Recipe for a Happy New Year
To leave the old with a burst of song To recall the right and forgive the wrong; To forget the thing that binds you fast To the vain regrets of the year that's past; To have the strength to let go your hold Of the not worthwhile of the days grown old, To dare to go forth with a purpose true, To the unknown task of the year that's new; To help your brother along the road To do his work and lift his load; To add your gift to the world's good cheer, Is to have and to give a Happy New Year.

Man, the cable speed is super at
sons house. When the cable is on.
We have no cable here in God's Country,
The Glorious South.
I believe my DSL's T1 connection at
300+ kbs is as fast as I'll ever get.
I may be wrong though.
The future is coming!

Greetings, Canteeners,
FReepers, Troops,
and All the Ships at Sea!
Reporting live from the Home Detachment Headquarters in ice-bound Louisville, KY, this is Day 28 of Sarge's Most Excellent Adventure!
Today marked the final day of Sarge's duty as a Recruiter. The NCOIC couldn't wait until I turned in my issued laptop, printer, office keys, and barely said "boo" to me. Anticlimactic is the word that comes to mind...
As such, my Web access on duty was temporarily curtailed. A long phone conversation with brother Wakeupandvote today, educated Sarge on the intricacies of wireless Web. There's a lot to know...
The days count down until MobDate. And compounding the problems is, of course, Missus's car still being up there in the mountains. Sometime shortly will commence Operation Jalopy Rescue, where Sarge returns to the scene, pays for the repairs, and nurses the jalopy home - hopefully not on New Year's Eve. If not, then Sarge gets cut loose from the muster and fetches the thing...
I hope...
Long day though, for tomorrow - Sarge will be helping out with the logistics of getting new equipment signed in, so not much in the way of Web-browsing anyway. Crunch time, and not much else at work.
At the Home Detachment HQ, all three of us are cracking down on a MAJOR "honey-do" list, of all the things which Sarge normally does, but now must be turned over to Missus and The Boy. Just another one of those things...
Sarge will be in the area for a bit, so Let's Have Fun!

The future is coming! That's for sure! *L* At work I have a bad slow computer on cable modem. At home I have a fast computer on dail up! Basically, I don't have good service anywhere then! So I hate to admit that the music you post I can't listen to at either locale. But I have a great imagination....

My Apologies, I made it sound Like I'm on Dial-Up! LOL, I'm not now, but will be soon, because I'm Moving to the country in a few months, and I'll have Dial-Up there! But I'll still have my DSL on the Weekends, because I'll still be Living in the City then. My Goodness, I don't want to even think of my little old Toshiba on Dial-Up, but I'll have to Face it soon! :^)
I had a Mouse with a Scroll Wheel hooked up to this Toshiba at one time, but it developed a Loose Connection, and quit working, so I had to Revert back to the Eraser-Head! I need to get me another one of those Scroll Wheels, now that you've Reminded me of it, Ma!
