Per Fox News Alert:
George Carlin Entering Drug Rehab for Wine and Vicodin. This will be his first trip to rehab. He is 67 years old.
I think it depends on the time of day ... day or evening
'Bout time.
Bummer

Knowing how Carlin respects Free Speech, he would approve of anything that is said here.
Can he take his stuff with him? ;)
methinks Brett Favre would be a better one to query, but your point is not lost on me.
My brother died of cancer at the age of 42. Whenever I see Carlin I think of those days. He's not longer as funny, he just seems bitter. I think it had something to do with his own wife's death. About eight years ago I remember seeing him get a comedy award and his speech was all about his wife, how she stood by him all those lean years. She was alive then, and she was beautiful. I think he's just a very sad man now trying to cover up his pain.
If nothing else, it's something most of us can relate to.
This relates back to that Vegas show two weeks ago where he told an audience member to "xxxx" him and insulted big-money corporate Vegas (the people paying his salary), along with inviting women in the audience to kill themselves.
Go to rehab and all is forgiven.
Again?

Caustic comic George Carlin entering drug rehab facility
Associated Press
LOS ANGELES - George Carlin is entering a drug rehabilitation facility to shake his dependence on wine and a painkiller.
"I'm going into rehab because I use too much wine and Vicodin," the 67-year-old Carlin said in a statement released Monday by his publicist Jeff Abraham. "No one told me I needed this. I recognized the problem and took the step myself."
The name and location of the facility wasn't disclosed,
Carlin, who performs his standup comedy in Las Vegas showrooms and is the author of the best-selling "When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?" on Hyperion Books, said he's never been treated in a rehabilitation facility.
"I know it isn't easy, but I'm highly motivated, and will do whatever's needed," Carlin said in the statement. "My levels of use are nowhere near the worst you hear about these days. I could easily have continued functioning at a good level for awhile, but my use would have progressed.
"I would have been in deeper trouble and I didn't want to tolerate that."
His acting credits include "With Six You Get Eggroll," "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" and "Jersey Girl" with Ben Affleck.
I last saw him in the early 90's and knew I would never again see his act.
Dang, he's got a LOT of drying out to do!!
Wino's prefer RED.
I think losing his wife had a profound effect on him that permeated everything in his life. I hope he finds some peace.
I think the line is symbolic for these times. Yes, it was Brian Keith.
Thanks. I lost my list of codes.
The big question is....
What is Mike Barnacle going to do for material while Carlin is in rehab?
Guess he's just a BAD AMERICAN!!
I think you're right. I read an in-depth profile on him recently in an L.A. Times I found in a fast food restaurant. He admitted to being totally disillusioned, alienated, faithless and cynical. I fear that's a fate that awaits many in our increasingly secular society. I tried existentialism and alienation once -- didn't like them.
