Another very large after shock.
California earthquake expert Kate Hutton called the 9.0 quake a thrust quake, and said that tsunamis in this type of quake in that area would have been impossible to predict. Locals would have had absolutely no warning nor time to evacuate.
Unpredicted tsunamis can be expected to continue with large aftershocks.

This is what I am wondering too. I checked the Tsunamis warnings after the quake hit. At first there was one for west coast and Alaska as well as other places. Then they took West Coast and Alaska off. I couldn't find a warning for the areas hit other than they said there is possibility of tsunamis near epicenter. I found this all very odd. I mean there is a giant earthquake in the ocean and nobody issues tsunamis warnings. Why were people on the beach?

Someone posted a link that was a page FULL of videos and photographs. Does anyone have that handy?
Thanks

My point also stands. You can not know the mind of God. Else, you would be as God. The truth be told, you don't know more than me, or the local Islaminazi.
Do you have a right to say it?
Sure, and I have a right to laugh.
God had about as much to do with the creation of this earthquake that killed 10,000 innocent people as he did with the advent of cancer. Both are horrible things, but they are not a warning.
They are merely evidence that God exists, and the clock that He created still ticks.
And that, my friend, is how I percieve God, and this earthquake.
Sir Thomas More, where are you when we need you?

"LOL! TRANSLATE IS CERTAINLY THE WORD! Have long had people translate between me and others! Story of my life."Hey, I understood you perfectly, as did others.
The problem isn't in the English, but the comprehension of the person reading. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Mindspy, according to a news report/interview just heard,
California earthquake expert said (paraphrasing):
- "Going by the nature of the thrust fault quake,
- the relatively shallow water,
- the nature of the coastlines with no tidal gauges to indicate the height of local tides,
- there was and could have been absolutely no prediction, no warning except one in the Maldives which was issued too late,
- all resulting in no time to evacuate after this particular quake.
- Sunbathers on the beaches, boaters, tourists and locals had no idea what hit them.
- More tsunamis can be expected along with after shocks in the affected areas for up to a year."

"It's just not that common in my experience for someone to be so spiritually discerning and to click in so accurately and quickly to where I'm coming from. You not only read my heart well but my words well, too. PRAISE GOD AND THANKS."Very welcome. We have talked before and had a good rapport. Maybe, there is some sort of spiritual connection that makes this possible.
You have a good heart and are a believer, that is all I need to know. God be with you and bless you and your family. I shall pray for your Mother.

Expatguy, trying to catch up here. Are you and your family and friends okay? A local seismologist has said that tsunamis from aftershocks of this quake are possible for up to another year.

"They sure were wrong, huh?"They were talking about the Pacific Basin. They did say a tsunami was possible near the epicenter.
