I think they burned all the churches and beheaded all the nuns in Indonesia years ago...

Using your logic, it appears that God juxtaposed your post #277 right after post #276, to amazing ironic effect.

Well, everything fits into God's plan. I won't say God directly ordains it all though.

I was just reading through and replying when I found something of interest or debate....

I don't understand how some people can think like that. It just baffles me that anyone would pray for the destruction of another.

And that still doesnt make it right for us to pray for their destruction....God will sort that out one way or the other.

Yep, I remember posts on some Muslim newspapers calling the Florida hurricanes of September God's punishment on the US.

Heck, the cockroaches of every faith seem to do it. When a natural disaster strikes the U.S., some dumb Muslim cleric says it is the will of Allah.

Exactly! Hey, heard old Gordon's last days are next week, that should be good news, his son was given a job at HP during our alliance. nepotism, alive and well.

If you knew a bit about Indonesia, its a large country with over 17,000 islands, stretching 3200 miles from end to end. Indonesians speak 500 languages, and there are huge racial and religious differences. It is a fascinating place full of an amazing amount of cultures.

Making a blanket statement about Indonesia based on one event would be like someone abroad basing the entire United States on Scott Peterson, or the LA riots.

Its a big old world out there, worth seeing and trying to understand.

Now, the people of Aceh, Thailand, Maldives, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and anywhere else along the path need our prayers.

I think there are good and bad people in all faiths and that G-d knows what He is looking for and that the 'label' of their faith isn't the issue.

Sorry, but killing Catholic missionaries is what I heard....and never hearing a crackdown on the Muslims who did it. I am sure all the Red Crescent countries are organizing relief assistance as we speak </sarcasm>

David prayed for the destruction of his enemies in the Psalms.

I may be a bit radical, but I see no problem with praying for victory in war or the defeat of our enemies.

However, hating Muslims is wrong. Not all Muslims hate us.

Catholic Nuns got killed in El Salvador, its a Catholic country, its a big old world, bigger than you can see or understand in 3 lifetimes.

I see guys in Detroit burn the city down when they win a sports event, and I wonder about just how civilized the USA is sometimes.

Do you like the idea of Muslims in the US telling Christians that they are wrong and need to convert to Islam?

Exactly.

I mis-worded by response a bit.

War is different.

We aren't at war with the people of Indonesia.

And yes, not all Muslims hate the United States or Americans, contrary to popular belief....
