I know exactly where the C&N and Aloha are! I never went into the Rockhard, too loud.

I imagine that the boxing ring and go-go bars are all trashed, damn.

A decent map of the area. Seychelles appear to be next major population area.

Actually have to wonder about the threat to places like Perth Australia now too.

In case people wonder about it my (limited) understanding of ocean-wide tsunami propagation would seem to indicate it would have a very difficult time entering the shallow and narrow Persian Gulf and causing any damage at all in Kuwait, Iraq, Quatar, Bahrain, etc.

If it happened around noon, all the scuba boats were out, I imagine that the wreck I've dove many times is trashed, had the chance to dive it again a few weeks ago, maybe I should have.

I hope the airport is ok, its in the far north of the island, but very close to the sea.

Thailand dodged a bullet when I was there over thanksgiving, a typhoon was bearing down on Koh Tao and Samui, but it turned north and dumped rain over a droughed area in the Thai/Burma border area.

I can't imagine what happens to all the boats. There is a lot of earthquakes happening now and tremors still.

The death toll is going to be very high I am afraid.

I'm praying for all the guys and girls at the diveshops.

I wonder if Phi Phi is OK, very little flat land to build, no roads. Plus there are several private islands there with resorts on them up in the Andamans.

I don't know about "massive", but a lot of coast dwellers are going to be homeless.

The tsunami will go anywhere there's open ocean, eh? Tell you the truth, I'm a little confused about Thailand. Didn't I read further up the thread they got hit? Malaysia should have completely blocked any tsunami should it not?

Thankfully, Thailand has a pretty good infrastructure and can respond, Burma will be a mess, they are probably more unprepared than Bangladesh.

I read that Maldives got hit, that could be the worst, I've really wanted to go there now that Bangkok Airlines flies there, but its very very expensive.

Look at this and you will understand what is happening and what has happened.
