SEATTLE (AP) - Democrat Christine Gregoire has won the Washington governor's race by 130 votes over Republican Dino Rossi, according to final recount results from King County.

King County was the last county to report in the statewide hand recount, the third count of ballots in the governor's election. The election results have not been certified and probably will be challenged in court.

There are many of us Washingtonians who are Republicans - like the majority of us on the east side. The east side of the state is everything east of the Cascade Mountains, so we have the most land mass, but fewer people than live on the west side. Thanks to the liberal westerners and this latest debacle that they got us into, Washington State is becoming a joke to the rest of the country. This latest, and most public display of liberal lunacy is just one of many examples of how the westerners are turning our state into a socialist mecca. I would like to see the east side become its own state; the differences are that extreme.

So are they going to recount the rest of the state now?

My sister just called from Florida to wish us a Merry Christmas..........

........And to tell me that everyone back in Florida is now laughing at us.

Keep all the media crap, file all the news, memorize how it was done. This is no defeat, this is an education. Use it for the next time. If we can't change the voting laws to be legal and logical, at least we learned how they do it. Attack those points the next election. Pay very close attention to your local elections and change the party in control of the clerk of elections and the office of the county clerk. Pay attention and vote and this won't happen. It's a travisty, I know, but it is a learning experience.

Know the enemy and you can defeat him!

There are no "party registered" voters in WA State, so there is no way to tell if they come from voters who chose Rossi, or an alternative, until they are removed from their sealed envelope and actually processed and counted -- those in question weren't. Which is not to say that they couldn't have come from precincts within King County that leaned less Dem and more Republican.

Voter backlash will be seen next time Rossi runs for any elected office. I only hope those who would vote Republican get off their butts and go vote in person in future elections, not risk a not-counted mail-in vote based on some technicality -- plus has your name and signature on the envelope!

And shame on Gregoire the hypocrit.

But she will never have a mandate if this travesty is allowed to stand.

... at least we learned how they do it...

Well, you get an insider friend at the Department of Elections, who just so happens to have a few thousand blank ballots left over from the printers, and you go over to their house for an evening in the family room, watching liberal network TV while punching out ballots for candidate "X".

Next, good friend makes sure these ballots get tossed into a dinged up looking ballot can, and you give a call over to the local liberal TV station, where the news director and you are good friends, after meeting at the "Diversity Days" festival held recently.

News director friend sends over a TV crew right away to the DOE office so they can photograph that dinged up ballot can, and tisk tisk away about how some slob, obviously an NRA member, didn't make sure that ballot can got back to the DOE office for counting.

On the Evening News then is displayed the Shocking Incident Of Voter Disenfranchisment! By the time the 10 pm news rolls around, there already is a suit filed to have these votes counted, or else the disenfranchisment will be so great that riots will ensue!

Some time later, after counting the votes and never asking why this mystery ballot can's results are nowhere the statewide averages, the fix is in. Candidate "x" wins by a hair.

Interesting that when Rossi was ahead it was only a lead but now that the Queen 'Rat is ahead her lead turns into a win.

Rats have found a surefire strategy:
Challenge the tossed out ballots in a liberal county, where you control the election canvassing board, then shake, rattle and jigger the ballots like a gumball machine, until they get the votes needed.

This is the future of Rat politics.

However;
Christine Gregoire, as the State Attorney General for the state of Washington advised the Secratary of State, on a ballot recount in 1996.

-It was 180 degrees opposite of her current position on her own election recount challenge.

Gregoire advised that:
"Challenge of Ballots Not Allowed."

" We are advised by the Attorney General [Christine Gregoire] that state law makes no provision for the challenge of ballots or voters (as provided in RCW29.10.125) during the recount."

"The recount procedure provided for by statute is a mechanical function of re-tallying the ballots cast and accepted as valid by the precinct election officers or the canvassing board during the canvass of the election."

"The decision of the canvassing board with respect to the inclusion or exclusion of a particular ballot during the canvass is not open to question during the recount."

The whole thing really stinks!
Boy, you Republicans are sure right about that. What's up with limiting the minority group voters of King County to just one vote apiece?

Don't you realize that these people were denied the vote for 400 years? Naturally, they should be allowed to make up for all those ballots their progenitors missed.

Next thing you know, you members of the VRWC will insist on people voting in just their home precinct. Probably want them to show some sort of picture ID.

Now, what is wrong with you people? Of course we wait until the election is long over to count the votes. How else can we tell how many we need? You people are weird. I mean, how would you do it?

"And to think that I used to get irritated with Governor Rick Perry or Kay Bailey Hutchison. Oh well, I did not know how well off I was"

I have Family up there, and last night on the phone I heard an amazing thing, that the Economy for the Small Businessman has dwindled to almost nothing and that if they see two houses being built on any given Sunday drive they were very surprised and I normally try to steer far far away from Politics (especially around the Holidays, since they are sooooo Liberal) I just blurted out that the State Government has done it's best to Legislate Small Business out of Business and the State Government seems to want to be the next California Welfare State and what I heard was amazing... "Yea I know, remember 30 years ago when this State was Sane?" This from relatives that wouldn't talk to me for 5 years when I said something anti-Clinton. There is hope for the Great Northwest!

I have had to move to Seattle from Texas to care for an elderly parent. Now I have Patty Murray for my Senator, Jim McDermott for my Congressman and, it looks like Christine Gregoire for my Governor.

I know what you mean, we moved up here 4years ago from the People's Republic of Calif. I love it here but Reno, NV for retirement is looking better and better. The communist state of Washington is starting to irk me. This theft and fraud.

"I smell a recall. I'll be putting the final touches on the petition to be filed with the Secretary of State on the day Gregoire is inaugurated"

Y'all need to just improve the smell of that whole cesspool, and one way would be to take the highroad, walk away without getting down in the pig-stuff with them, and then just use their weapon against them, de-ligitimize Gregoire, Gridlock, and then boot her out next time around. Takes a little time but no mud wrestling in a pigstye required.

Spot on.

I am shocked that Washingtonians keep voting for these anti-business politicians. Doesn't anyone in that state have a job? Or more to the point, run a business?

Just the facts.

1) re-counts are a normal procedure of any close election.

2) the 760 ballots found were most definetly not fraudulent..they identified the individual citizen for each ballot..to not count those ballots would be the like saying the county making a clerical error is ok..and its ok to disenfranchise people.

3) Rossi lost even if you don't include those extra ballots.

4) The Democrats are ALL for election reform...before you people start screaming fraud get behind election reform.

5) Is there one piece of hard evidence there was any fraud in Washington? I haven't seen any.

Just keep re-countin' 'em until they say what you want, then stop.

I agree with you this is a travisty, the demoncraptics just keep recounting until they get the result they were looking for, then declare victory, well this is a victory short lived, we can recount somemore and get the number we like, F**k them, we can re-count too!
