If she steals the election, she will be recalled and a petition will be filed the day she is inaugurated.

Here we go. I hate to tell her, but Rossi won two out of three.

I disagree here. IF there was no fraud in the manual recount, Gregoire should be declared the winner, as only the most recent count should be even considered. However, the likelihood of there not being any fraud is ... ah, let's avoid the euphemism and just say zero.

This one isn't over. I'd expect to see several people on both sides busted for vote fraud before it's done, and maybe even a re-vote.

i guess an 8 vote win is more believable than a 1 vote win

In the end, we're going to need armed militia at all polling places and at all vote counting precincts.

This is definitely why they want to ban the 2nd amendment.

If a Republican were demanding recount after recount based on nothing but not liking the results I'd be embarrassed...the Democrats are shameless.

For them, this is a strength.

Her governorship will be the end of the Democratic Party in the United States. People know how to deal with this.

they do?
just wondering.
I wish you were right.

How do they deal with this?
It's pretty clear the game is afoot.

But how we can figure this will be the end of the Demoncratic party, is beyond my grasp (not all that surprising).

email me if you have some offline 'insight' on what's in store.

I rather think the pubbies will fold, though they should not.
the judge said these votes would not be counted. The dems counted and announced anyway. Now who is the controlling legal authority?

looking for good news nick.

Well, I guess everyone saw this coming for a month and a half. Hard to feign shock or dismay. A knowing nod about that three member canvassing board - with two hard left Democrat partisans - makes decisions is about all that one can muster up.

Another dictum: If Rossi pulls this off and becomes Governor somehow, it'll be the first time in my memory a Democrat has ever come out ahead on any count (regardless of how many they lost up to that point) and didn't force themselves into the power chair. Acquiring power is like "the precious" to them.

I think it's going to take a recall.

Roger that. Time for the quiet (lazy?) GOP base to respond with some fire in the belly.

I am not in Washington, but this does make me mad. With all the fraud I can tell you folks up there in Washington just need to revote.

The Republican Party should announce that due to the irregularities of this election, either a new election be granted (either this year or next November) or a recall effort will begin.

So is the state GOP going to fight or fold?

You ask the critical question, my friend. You see, the Democrats will be watching the GOP response quite closely.

This becomes a great big TEST of resolve

If we are WEAK-KNEED, and let them get away with (apparent) election fraud, then they will know that they can do it in subsequent elections. And do it they just might.

However

If Republicans stand their ground and fight for an election that Republicans won fair and square, then Democrat oparatives might think carefully about attempting to game the vote.

A recall in Washington is different than in California -- you can't recall a Governor here with out malfeasance (cause). So she'll have to do something shady while she's governornot before she's governor in order to have a recall pass the Supreme Court (where Gregoire will take it in a heartbeat). The recall law in Washington is a lot tougher nut to crack. She's going to have to stumble as Governor first before a recall petition will be allowed.

If we're lucky it will have the "precious" effect on them. To forget the taste of bread, or the love of daylight.

In Washington you can only recall a Governor for malfeasance while in office -- not being a cheat to get into office. She's got to do something illegal while in office for a recall petition to be allowed - it's very different than in California. Our recall law is a very tough nut to crack here -- short of her breaking the law while she's sitting as governor, not before -- there's no legal means to start a recall without her first committing malfeasance in office.

...but there are very few Cedars in Eastern King county.

Nonetheless, there is a Cedar River in Eastern King County. Thus, the name "Cedar County", I'd wager.
