SHOP AT TARGET -- THEY SUPPORT LGBTQ FAMILIES
Rainbow Law is calling for the LGBTQ community to support and shop at Target stores this holiday season. After Target refused to allow the Salvation Army to place bell-ringers and kettles at their stores (because they discriminate against the LGBTQ community), the anti-gay equality crusaders began their usual lies and propaganda campaign.
There is no reason to let this attack go unchallenged. We have the power to counter the far right's relentless assault on our civil rights and liberties. And one of the most effective methods for defeating unfair practices is by using the power of our combined financial resources.
Why would you continue to support companies who donate millions of dollars to campaigns and politicians who are hell-bent on destroying your family?
Rainbow Law has compiled a detailed list of the companies that contributed money in support of campaigns and candidates who oppose equal marriage rights and we are calling for a general boycott of these companies. [FReepers take note: please support these companies to counteract any pressure the LGBT might bring!]
To win the election at any cost, political campaigns lied about Gay and Lesbian Families and they lied about what Equal Marriage really means. Because of those lies, eleven state constitutional amendments banning equal marriage rights passed.
And the opposition was successful in spreading the lies via the media. That is why Rainbow Law also suggests that we find an alternative to mainstream newspapers, television and radio stations. Especially Clear Channel Communications and Fox Television -- two media giants with a proven right-wing bias and agenda.
For an alternative perspective, turn the channel -- listen to and support your local public broadcasting stations. Watch your Public Broadcasting station for the news. Listen to National Public Radio and Air America Radio and read newspapers and magazines like Rainbow Law's Un-Censored E-Zine.
In addition to supporting Target Corporation for their courage to stand up to injustice, we hope you will think queer as you make any purchase.
Instead of spending money at straight-owned enterprises, purchase products from queer owned or queer friendly merchants. When you are in the market for a new home, car, insurance, etc, support people who support your family. If you need help at work or at home, hire queer people to do things.
In the past, boycotts have been used successfully to pressure corporate supporters of bigoted politicians into withdrawing their financial contributions.
Together we have the power to make a difference!
And, that Target Corporate actively supports sodomites and therefore rejects the Salvation Army should also be of no surprise to anyone. The Salvation Army has stuck to their guns and refuses to hire sodomites. This irritates Target's upper management. It makes you wonder why, doesn't it? Perhaps the Salvation Army's stance on homosexuality goes counter to the lifestyle of many of Target's upper management.
:)
I remain in shock that companies choose to support a 2% splinter group at the risk of offending well over half the U.S. population. Despite all the silly cries about the "far right" and such, don't forget that even 45% of KERRY VOTERS voted for the various anti-homosexual-marriage initiatives across the nation. Liberals love to ignore that fact when blaming all this anti-homosexual sentiment on us conservative Christians, when the fact is a broad majority of the country feels the same way.

It is illegal to fund PBS with government money.
And in their off-hours, they cruise Home Depot.
Many of the careers of stars like Alec Baldwin have been hurt by their extremism.
Target did a big disservice to their stockholders. The executives who made this decision are in for a stockholder suit if their results are bad and the stock goes down.
Target sided with the sodomites. I wouldn't have expected the Nancy boys in Target corporate to do anything else.
I ignored the "at best", giving you the benefit of the doubt. I've made my affiliation a secret to no one, on any of the threads on which I've responded. The fact that I'm "outting" myself here should be representative of that fact-- not some great "police work" on your part.
I don't see it as a conflict of interest anymore than defending Christianity would be a conflict of interest for me. I happen to have some particular insight to share on this subject and am doing so. You wouldn't deprive me of that would you?
Frankly, it doesn't matter to me why Target told the SA to stay away. Target did; its competitors didn't. As I posted in that previous thread, if the day comes when the SA is banned from all or even most of Target's competitors, I might start shopping at Target again.
Keep watching the news. BestBuy is considering the same decision (or might have recently). I guess I should also disclose that I've contracted for Best Buy in the past as well, and still have employee/friends there, lest I again be accused of being less-than-truthful.
This is another unfortunate trend in America. The corporation gets threatened into submission by suit, and then gets blamed by the consumer.
P&G is similar in its PCness.
Cosco contributed 100% of its political contributions to the Rats, according to a table someone posted on one of the threads here.
And let's hope that Target's Christmas sales suffer greatly as a result of their weakness. I would smile if they were damaged irreparably by their decision to appease the sodomites.
Unfortunately, true.
And, that Target Corporate actively supports sodomites and therefore rejects the Salvation Army should also be of no surprise to anyone.
If true, it would certainly be a surprise to me. I don't pretend to be familiar with Target's upper-management, but I can tell you that no decisions about anything are made here without a lot of (almost exhaustive) input from a multitude of levels.
Stop it! You're breaking my heart. When, like Target, you act like a spineless wuss, expect to receive a publc flogging.
Quack. The designation of the psychologists that determined there was nothing wrong with same sex desires.
Target banned the SA. It is no urban legend. You can call up customer service and hear their lame explanation if you want.
Thanks for the heads up.
From MSNBC
Target isn't the only chain that prohibits solicitation. You won't find bell ringers at Best Buy, Home Depot or Barnes and Noble either.
I spent twenty-five years in corporate sales and watched the structure of corporate life change from white, male dominated to what it is today. A mess. When a company stresses 'diversity' as much as revenue generation then our once great capitalist economy is in serious danger of collapse.
It's ironic that the 'blue power' site had Target listed as 'red' for giving more to the GOP.
They are certain that bi-curious people should "experiment". How many people fall into the lifestyle because they are drug addicts (easy source for some drugs if only you'll have sex with "me", the same thing happens among heterosexual coke addicts)? I know of several women who went lesbian because they felt they weren't getting any attention from men and were lonely. Some turn to lesbianism to escape an abusive spouse only to realize that women can hit just as hard.
