If the United Nations fails to gain approvals to expand its headquarters in New York, will it be saying "Auf Wiedersehen"?
That's "goodbye" in German, and at least one source close to the U.N. expansion project said talk has "been in the air" for several months about the possibility of using Bonn as a site for some U.N. offices should approval be withheld from plans to erect a 35-story office building near the U.N. campus during renovations of the Secretariat.
A number of sources familiar with the United Nations said transfer of the General Assembly and other organs of the main body to Bonn is highly unlikely. And a former U.N. ambassador, Richard Holbrooke, said that if the headquarters of the world body were moved from New York the organization "would collapse."

I was thinking that GET THE F*CK OUT! would probably be the simplest way to get the message across.
Think about what 6,000 odd leeches do to the tight housing market in NY.
If we kick them out a HELL of a lot of economy contributing AMERICANS presently unable to find an apartment in NY would likely find one!
---
If the government stopped subsidizing housing and rent in NY rent rates would drop and the inner city areas would clean up of their own accord.
AMEN!!!! Whether it be the P.O.'d Kerry voters who threatened to move to Canada, or the disgraceful U.N., I have this to say:
LEAVE! GET OUT! WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE!
That's because a parasite has to stay close to its host.
By all means lets help them move, the sooner the better and tell them not to ever come back or even call!!!!
Good! Don't forget to take all the communist, socialist and terrorists with you.
C-Ya! :=)
In that case, you are making the same mistake that Stalin made. He pulled his delegation out of the UN, and the US pushed a resolution thru the Security Council authorizing UN forces to defend South Korea.
We can't pull out as long as the UN exists. We've got to be part of it in order to make sure that it does not interfere with our foreign policy. And if we've got to be part of it, we might as well have it in the US where we can keep a tighter reign over it.
I have no problem with us pulling out--after it is shut down.
Everyone is agreeing that getting the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US is a must! >>former U.N. ambassador, Richard Holbrooke, said that if the headquarters of the world body were moved from New York the organization "would collapse."<< Head 'em up, lets move 'em on out! Giddyup, yeehaw, giddyup Boys, move 'em on out!
Tell the UN to sent up camp in Paris, I'm sure they'd be more than welcome there......
I think if the US pulled out of the UN, the British, Japanese and Australians would possibly follow suit and for certain Israel would quit. China and Russia would have no interest in having to follow any rules that America doesn't, so they would quit too. Within a few years the UN would be a bunch of EU wannabees and third-world dictatorships, it would be worthless. Remember, what made the League of Nations worthless was the fact that America didn't join. It was true 80 odd years ago and it's true today: without American participation, no world body has any value at all. America needs to take the lead in this, being "one of the last to leave the party" would just make us look foolish.
I give the balance of my time on this thread to the FReeper from the great state of Virginia.
And by the way, Virginia is a COMMONWEALTH.
A M E N!!!
Global warming? Send 'em to Mars. Let 'em clean that up. Then they might have EARNED some credence. Short of that, banishing them from our shores would be sufficient. |
Good, Get Rid of them, they don't deserve to be in the US, they take advantage of the laws, they hate us, get rid of them, get rid of the un, get rid of the un.........gone! Go away un, we hate you as much as you hate us and the US!
I hope they won't let the door hit 'em on the butt!
