Washington Post ^ | 12/20/2004 | Christopher Muste

Posted on 12/20/2004 3:26:59 PM PST by Jeb for Pres 2008

The survey found that 56 percent of the country now believes that the cost of the conflict in Iraq outweighs the benefits, while 42 percent disagreed. It marked the first time since the war began that a clear majority of Americans have judged the war to have been a mistake.

"A total of 1,004 randomly selected Americans were interviewed Dec. 16 to 19."

Probably all in San Francisco or maybe Canada.

So 56% feel we should let terrorist breed and jihad our homes and families.

That is what all the lack of positive press does to the American people. Plus many have memories that can't seem to go past a season.

And yet:

Still, nearly six in 10 -- 58 percent -- said the United States should keep its military forces in Iraq rather than withdraw them, a proportion that has not changed in seven months.

What can we expect, since the "stone age media" has been uniformly against the war since the beginning, and has been continuously propagandizing against it by all means at its disposal. News coverage is TOTALLY one-sided, just as bad as the same "SAM" slanted election coverage against Bush and for Kerry.

The MSM will stop at nothing to try and make us the losers in Iraq. They are traitors; pure and simple.

They go to press and airwaves every day with another angle of America bad/Enemy good. I don't even listen anymore. I wonder how many others don't as well.

I wonder how many northerners supported Mr. Lincoln's war in 1862. Just asking.

That's the amusing bit. The election did turn on Iraq/WOT and 51% sided with the President.

They can keep issuing their polls as they desire, but the American people made their will known Nov. 2nd, 2004. These numbers are absolutely meaningless in comparison to the election itself.

Isn't it peculiar that the liberals "polls" ALWAYS favor their position on the issue?

That's probably true. The only person I know who thinks it costs too much to fight evil is my uncle. He's an old bitter liberal who blames everyone but himself for his own shortcomings. Ironically, he's much better off than me and I'm examining my mistakes so I can avoid repeating them. I have hope and he has none. Crazy, isn't it?

Just as the terrorists in Iraq planned -- Create ongoing confusion, and try to "Vietnamize" the Iraq effort in the minds of dumb Americans.

Depends on how the question(s) were asked.....I don't believe this. But if it is true, those people are idiots if they don't understand what's at stake here.

You make a great point concerning the election thingy in November. I guess we are all supposed to get amnesia, and forget the fact that Bush got 3.5 million more votes than sKerry and had a total of 51% of the vote. Typical WaPo lefty poll.
