Never take a knife (bayonet) to a gun fight. Seriously though, while tragic, it sounds like the officer didn't have much choice.

This is actually the first crime in 10 years that could have been affected by the now expired "clinton assault weapons ban" - it banned some rifles if they did not remove the bayonet lug...

LOL, I don't think the cause of death is in question. Just the amount of drugs and booze in his system.

Not at all. Bullets don't kill people. Massive blood loss/organ failure does. 8*O

Uh, do you think they might want to do some drug/alcohol tests?

The description of it as a "WW II era" weapons leads me to think it may be an M1 Garand. Thousands of these have been sold to civilians over the years. I don't think that weapon was ever banned under the Clinton AWB, even with a bayonet lug.

Looks to me that Matthew Jones learned the consequences of drugs and alcohol, irresponsible use of weaponry, and pulling a gun on a LEO the hard way.
Oh, and the "boys father" is a complete idiot for allowing his kid access to drugs and weaponry in his own home. I guess Darwin was right about a few things.

There are two kinds of bayonet fighters. The quick and the dead.
