I'll take a shot at it. No pun intended.

If a woman was as trained in the killing art of war as a man, then there should be no problem. Don't underestimate a woman, to do so, would be to do so at your peril.

We keep coming back again and again to what I said, "IF" she can preform her physical side of the training, then she should not be denied. Just as a man who could not, he as well should be denied.

Do you personally know that all women cannot carry the load that is required of them, or is it just a generalization of all women?

I would rather have a strong woman covering my back who WANTS to be there than a man who does not.

How much pressure does it take to pull a pin from a grenade? OR, snipe a man in another building? If her stamina, strength and abilities are top rate, then so should be her contribution to the war.

Women have no such yardstick with which to be compared. They must make their bones first, and that won't happen till they are actually on the front line. Just as the blacks proved themselves...women will be proved as well.

I'm calling BS on you here. Go back and read what I've said, and separate it from what you think I said.

Suggest you go back and take a good look at my page...see how much time I've spent in the infantry and why I might be prone to believe what I do. Based on my experience, women, generally speaking, do not belong in ground combat. Yes, there are women who can meet standards, there are women who can meet standards for any endeaver, but in certain jobs, they are the exception rather than the rule.

If you lower standards, to allow any particular group to be included, you have defeated the purpose you created the standards for in the first place.

If the ....watch out, I'm gonna use the F word here...feminazis advance the cause of women in ground combat ,simply because they are women, to the detriment of our ability to "win", well then I have a problem.

I am somewhat chauvinistic, probably most men are to greater or lessor degrees. IMO, most women are feminists to greater or lessor degrees.

That's funny. In the USAF there are women A-10 pilots and the Navy has a few F/A-18 pilots that are women. Still, they DID enlist in the Army so why do they complain?

If women want to enlist, they should meet the same standards as men. That means either only the strongest women join or no women join, but it is time for the military to stop being politicallt correct.

It's not just you. It's all who think like you. Who think a woman does not belong on the front lines. It isn't personal.

Why single out...'but not for ground combat'. Why should she be denied because some men have a problem with the potential of having women on the front lines.

I don't see a problem here...This will sound nasty to some people but others have brought up the 'hygiene' part of a woman being on the front lines or getting preganent. There is a shot that women can get called, 'Depo provera', that will stop all monthlies and pregnancy is extremely unlikely.

Lower standards? Your kidding right? By having women in the front lines that is lowering the military? How can you say that, it hasn't been tried yet.

Detriment? Let me process that for a second....finished. How could it possibly be a detriment for a skilled combat soldier to do their job with bravery, dignity and honor? Be it man or woman.

I'm a housewife, I know what my duties are. My hubby is the bread winner he knows what his duties are.

Seems everyone could learn a lesson from the Israeli's here. The IDF seem to have sussed out the integration of Women into the armed forces in a way that works for everyone without compromising combat readineness.

From Women in the IDF :

Female conscripts served in the Women's Army Corps, commonly known by its Hebrew acronym, Chen. After a five-week period of basic training, women served as clerks, drivers, welfare workers, nurses, radio operators, flight controllers, ordnance personnel, and course instructors. Women had not engaged in direct combat since the War of Independence.

They get the training, but are not posted to front-line combat

In Israel, for example, it is my understanding that women are on the front lines in every branch of the military. Swat, Special Forces, Hostage Teams, etc.

Our nation's military protects all of us, men and women.

When men and women join the military, they don't get to make decisions for themselves any more.

Military capability is more important than your feminist pretensions or your childish fantasies of G.I.Jane dominating the jihadist enemy.
