Double Dutch Bus is kickin! WooHoo!
Good Evening troops!! Good Evening everyone! I had a Sea Cadet awards ceremony/holiday party today. Tomorrow is drill.
Sea Cadet Report:
So, we arrive and have set up, and are just generally milling around when the XO comes up to the color guard and asks us why we aren't ready to go. Well, he never told us we were going to be doing that today (The XO has an annoying habit of doing this). So we scramble around trying to put the flags together and get the helmets and holsters. Does anyone remember the last time I held the Navy flag during a color guard? Well, we all did, so we decided to switch me with one of the rifles. So, I have to learn all the rifle stuff and the timing before the ceremony starts. I manage to do that and we arrive at the "excessive milling around stage" of all Navy ceremonies. For those of you not familiar with this stage, this is the stage before the ceremony starts when everything is ready early and there is nothing to do. Then, finally the ceremony starts. 5 minutes before it starts, we learn that the reason the color guard is out today is that our unit is acting on behalf of a grateful nation when presenting two bronze stars to the family of a deceased veteran. Honestly, it was an awesome ceremony.
Then we got to Sea Cadet awards. Three people got moved up in rank (not me, I have to wait a month) and I received 4 ribbons, one with a bronze star: 2 Academic Achievement, 1 Color Guard, 1 Community Service, and 1 First Year.
After the ceremony, we got to have the party. I sat and talked with some other cadets, the XO, and eventually the CO. The awesome part is, I got express permission from the CO to test any cadet on any of the 11 General Orders tomorrow. Our unit has an inspection in January, and the CO wants to make sure everyone knows them. Since, I already know mine, I get to test everyone else. Especially the senior cadets. Mwahahaha! The CO said especially them. I shouldn't love this, but I am going to.
Also, I got permission to give my little brother a tour of the sub tomorrow and to show him my color guard rifle. He is so excited about that. I can't wait for tomorrow either. As he puts it, today was great, tomorrow is going to be awesome.
Sea Cadets Rocks!!!

How's Annie? Curiosity is her first name. She's orange which means she'll be smart enough to wait till you aren't looking. Keep the camera nearby. I'm betting you can get some great pictures.
And Now I hope I have thought of a little something for everyone! I am out for a bit!!!
ROCK ON PEEPS!
So the woman you work with is a tad dense? Your points are well taken. LOL!!

Love out to the hood rats!
Well, thanky HopeandGlory!
I'm never very far from the Canteen. P:-)
Love the WOO HOO!
I love most of her stuff.... Some of her newer stuff isn't quite as good, I think.
You are not allowed to leave yet because I have your stuff coming up! LOL!
Unless you are taking care of your boys or having fun with them. Then that's okay. LOL!
Well, we try for variety around here. It keeps the old lady (Ma) happy. Hehe!
It's great to see you. Thanks for playing tunes throughout the day. It's been awesome to hear your collection as well.
*HUGS*
LOL...I bet I get some great ones, too. Rita (the 5 year old calico cat) is just laying there under the tree like it's her personal shade tree. But Annie is just taken with it....not sure what to do with it. I suspect we'll hear a crash tonight. Rita did that once when she was little...but never bothered the tree again after that. It scared her when it fell.
Have you any unfulfilled requests or
better yet, anything YOU'd like to hear?
LOL!! I'm really glad that you were able to finally get the house sold. What a relief.
Lord Of The Underground - Psycho
Oaktown 357 - Juicy Gotcha Crazy
Queen Latifah with Monie Love - Ladies First
Sir Mix A Lot - Posse On Broadway
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby (Sorry I Couldn't Resist)
If you're like Ma when you hear the word "rap" and believe it's what you do to a present,
then this isn't for you! Hehe!
