Former US president Bill Clinton still has the capacity to hold his own, as was seen when he was confronted by a man, who accused him of being an embarrassment to the whole country, during a stroll in Central Park. "You were an embarrassment to the office of commander-in- chief," the man reportedly taunted Clinton, reports The New York Daily Times. However, being the perfect diplomat, Clinton said: "Oh, really? I think I did a helluva job.... I'll admit I misled people about my personal life. And I have even apologized for it, but I never misled the people about policy and I certainly never misled the people about going to war."
"I hope your children turn out to be as perfect as you are, sir," Clinton added.
Clinton also spent 45 minutes taking questions from some admirers who had gathered around and then walked to a car, where Hillary Clinton was waiting for him.

This sounds like a setup to me. I just don't think someone would say this an he would be so ready with a reply.
I heartily concur. For a man who has a record of turning red-faced, sputteringly apoplectic when a common peasant dares to question his reign he handled this with uncharacteristic aplomb. And how was it a reporter just happened to be on hand when the intitial exchange took place?

I'm sorry, but I don't think I know who the Mr. Hubbell is that you are referring to.
That's not a name I have heard before. Will you please explain, or give me a first name, so I can try to find out on my own?
Thanks.

(Just my two cents, as usual.)

I never misled the people about policy...Gee, I feel misled about the threat bin Laden posed, the booming economy based on cooked books, North Korea, Iran, etc.
and I certainly never misled the people about going to war
He most certainly did, we should have gone to war in Afghanistan.

Bill Clinton on Monica Lewinsky...."
Former US president Bill Clinton still has the capacity to hold his own,...
These two lines must be a joke!

The man should have brought up Clinton's attempt to nationalize health care, followed by Clinton's ruination of our military by cutting active divisions by 33 percent, followed by Clinton's total failure to go after terrorists who bombed the World Trade Center towers, our soldiers in Rihad, SA, and the US Cole, followed by Clinton's refusal to prosecute corporate big wigs as they looted company after company during the Stock Market bubble of 1998-2000.
Those are the REAL failures of Clinton, even though MOnica's tongue job on willie's wonka was the thing which captured most of the media attention.
Quite frankly, conservatives should concentrate on slamming Clintoon for the REAL failures and leave the stainmaker talk to the libs.

"I hope your children turn out to be as perfect as you are, sir," Clinton added.Right, Bubba. And we would make as much sense as you do by coming back with: "..and sarcasm never fed a hungry child."
Just a bulls****er to the end.

Not to mention China-gate, Ron Brown's mysterious bullet wound to his head, and all the other cases of "sudden death syndrome" those who crossed the Clintstones were afflicted with.

Liberal reporters regard logical fallacies used by liberal politicians as wit.

I dont think any of this actually happened.

and stayed out of Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia...
The first two are because Bubba couldnt stand up to pressure from the congressional black caucus...
The third is yet another example of the U.S. having to get involved wherever muslims are involved.

Sorry, this article does`nt seem realistic.I doubt Clinton would to this day admit he misled anyone over Monica.
I know he did to save his hide in 1998 but today he would just walk away from a question/statement like that.

but I never misled the people about policy and I certainly never misled the people about going to war. Sure --- ask the people he bombed the day that Monica had to give her testimony. Killing people only to keep the news of his perjury and sexual harassment off the front page.

True or not, this story is true to Clinton's personality and lack of class.
