In cases like Rathergate, a bogus story can be proven false, spread all over the world, and completely discrediting of the original reporter before he/she comes to work the next morning.Damned right!

In essence, this is the heart of FR.
This, and the counterprotests.
BTW, His Slickness would not have been impeached if not for FR. There were several Congressional Republican invertebrates that were getting all squishy about Impeaching His Slickness.
The FR Judgment Day event of early December 1998 put some spine where there was none before.
We can truthfully and proudly say that because of us His slickness has to be referred to as:
William J. Clinton, Impeached President.
God bless the dress!

I am still waiting for the Anatomy part of the Freeper to be described...specific structure of the body and its parts and their functions.
I thought perhaps we had some anatomical part that sets us apart from other human beings. ;)

The only place I go for the latest news is Free Republic, I want it fast, fresh and funny (when appropriate). I wouldn't have returned to the optimism I now have if I had never found Free Republic. I was all doom and gloom for the United States, my favorite line, "the fat lady is singing". I now am back at being political active, though I always voted, I now make calls, send letters, send emails, volunteer and am better informed with correct information than at any time in my right sided life.

...this is the reason why liberals can no longer dominate the media and control the spin to suit their agenda. Correct you are, Generalissimo! To torture a Leninist trope, one might say that we take some of the "usefulness" out of the MSM "idiots".
(Like your blog, BTW)

The important point that he misses is how many Freepers are expert in some subject or another. Often, when something happens, I can find in the threads on the subject some expert who has personal experience in the issue. Sometimes, that person even knows some of the individuals in the story. Other times, while there may be no true Freeper expert posting, there is a Freeper who has followed the story or some part of the story for a long time prior to the story making news.

Within minutes, if the story is juicy enough, just like flies, freepers all over will descend on the story and give their two cents worth.I prefer to think of us as bargain hunters at a flea market descending upon a great item there being sold by a vendor.
