Major East Coast Storm In The Works
Accuweather.com ^ | 12/16/04 | Accuweather

Posted on 12/16/2004 9:51:26 AM PST by CollegeRepublican

From Accuweather.com: There are some definite signs that a major storm will take shape along the Carolina coastline Sunday. From there, it will rapidly strengthen and spin northward up the coast Sunday night and Monday. Fuel for the storm will be a direct confrontation between very cold air charging southward through the Great Lakes and mild air streaming in from off the Atlantic Ocean. The clash of air masses will be the product of an unusually large amplification of the jet stream. This storm could have major impact on shopping and travel late in the weekend and early next week. When the exact track of the storm becomes more evident, AccuWeather.com will bring you the specifics on timing and actual snow accumulations.

I'd say "It's about time."

Liberal or not, New England at Christmas under a blanket of snow shore is purty.

Thats why they can't have it for their little commieland utopia they want to set up. One day we'll take it back.

Down with the Socialist Occupation of New England. Our People Chafe Under Their Harsh Oppression. Workers (as opposed to Slackers) of New England, Arise!

I need another one in my freezer before the end of the year.

I hear ya hummin', CR! Haven't been hunting in over 15 years but I'm really getting the itch to get at it again. Nothing like venison steaks through the winter!

Looks like I'll be able to do a burn of some old rotten wood in my backyard without a permit in a few days time. Permits are not required when there's snow cover.

Joe Bastardi?

Yep, he's our meterologist on the Washington DC Morning News radio program. He was telling us this morning that there is a very strong chance of a White Christmas in the DC area - it's been many years since THAT'S happened.

You're nothing but a red-stater in a blue state. They have to tolerate enough of you to run the snowplows. Nancy-boy liberals don't know how.

Note that snowmen in MA are few and far between.

Same sex-marriage has virtually eliminated their reproduction.

Ohhhh! Please, please, please let this be so!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I have new snowshoes and I'm itchin' to try 'em out. A snow day from work wouldn't be bad, either...

Just as long as it holds off hitting Pittsburgh until after Saturday, I'm happy. I need good weather to get home.

OK, I'll at least grant you that much...

I'll hold off prayin' for snow until Sunday, k?

Yes! I Blame the monster Boooosh!!!!! This Proves Global Warming.

(doesn't it seem like a lot more than a year ago when Algore made that speech on global warming during white-out conditions in NYC?)

AccuBlunder is a pretty sick organization at the top; their president is a liar (routinely cranks out press releases bashing the NWS that make Al Jazeera look accurate) and their flagship personality, Joe Bastardi, is a deceptive Blowhard who basically forecasts the same thing (extreme weather every week).

I read his column and watch his videos daily on pro.accuweather.com. He really gets excited about the weather! He's an old fashioned forecaster that forecasts the worldwide pattern. He only looks to the models to verify his forecast and perhaps give him ideas about smaller parts he may have missed. None of the models showed the kind of cold we are experiencing right now...and that was 3 weeks ago. He stuck to his guns until the models started to come around last week and he got to say "Told you so" for the millionth time.

He does all his stuff old-school. Very cool. Sometimes you can see him on accuweather videos that get posted on Yahoo's weather page.

Regards,

Jim

Latest model trends are for the storm to be offshore, btw.

I always make a big pot of shredded venison bbq for my friends on New Years and they go through it like they were starving. They eat it right out of the crock-pot.

Too many little Rudolphs, and Cupids, and Donners, and Blitzens out there. Bag two. Even Bambi should be fair game. Especially Bambi.

I thought global warming precluded the existence of snow anymore in temperate climates and to have a White Christmas again, we must all give up our SUV's? I must be reading the wrong articles.

In reality he's about the biggest model-hugger in the world. His shtick about being some maverick who looks at the pattern unlike those dumb peons who just look at models is a load of BS.
