Blankley has good reasons for writing that which I'd never expect him to write.

----I hope sombody high up in the Bush Administration is reading Blankley--I have suspected for a couple of years that the Demotraitors would try and steal immigration reform as an issue---

The illegal immigration issue does indeed have the potential of splitting the GOP. Best not ignored because it will not go away. Keep shoving it under the rug it is going to make something to trip over.

As much as I hate to admit it, he's got a point. I've always disagreed with Bush's policies on immigration, anyway.

Strong Dem policies make for stronger Republicans. I agree that Hillary! 's motives are all out of whack, but if it strengthens the country......

There are threads here on FR that should tell any intelligent person some things:
We are told that Terrorism is a threat. Agreed, but to the majority of people in the southwest, they have not been impacted by terrorism except for those who are military and have been sent to Iraq.
The rest of us have seen hospitals go bankrupt, (so now you may have to go 50 miles or more to an ER or Trauma Center). Most have some friend or neighbor who was hit in a car by an unlicensed, uninsured illegal.
Our schools and freeways are overcrowded.
Illegals bring tuberculosis and encephalitis.
Illegals turn whole neighborhoods into areas resembling Tijuana slums.
Twenty five per cent of the population in the prisons are Illegals.

Yet, nothing can be done because politicians --city, county, and state--are politically correct and do not want to offend Hispanics.

You see, we see it as Right here, Right Now. We are tired of hearing the political and bureacratic statement that " nothing can be done about it".

I've been scratching my head forever trying to figure out what will get our politicians to respond to this issue.

Sorry to see Hillary outsmarting every other politico, but if she goes there I hope to God the pubbies will feel it's OK to put that crucial isue on the table.

Memo to gutless officials (federal, state and local): Hillary is going there cuz there are VOTES there, you ?$$#!! visionless boobs.

Clearly we have to make some tough decisions as a country, and one of them ought to be coming up with a much better entry-and-exit system so that if we are going to let people in for... work...lets have system that keeps track of them... People have to stop employing illegal immigrants."

Where is Hillary's legislation regarding any aspect of this problem?

Hillary is just trying to divide the Conservatives. She knows this is a divider between conservatives and Bush...and she's going to use it to her advantage to get votes. Her husband opened the gates more than anyone...she's not fooling me.

Pretty good column from Blankley......and yet another voice speaks for border and immigration issues to be dragged to the forefront.

I suspect this will be the biggest "hot button" in the next presidential election and there is no way I want to see sHillery have a better plank than whomever the Republicans nominate.

Blankley is right. God bless Hillary (pardon as I barf up a lung). Immigration MUST be dealt with. It is the only thing I strongly disagree with my President on. Gotta close the Borders. For all our sakes.

Would it be too much to ask Hillery to back withdrawing from the 1967 UN Outer Space Treaty and establishing property rights in outer space? She is a total opportunist.

Lord please do not make me vote for a dem. The big problem is will she actually do something about the problem or just lie to get into office.

I hate to say this but the reps have had control of all three offices and things are not changing.

Watch dems get the memo and start the campaign. Illegal immigration must be slowed or stopped and good jobs must be brought back to America. Even if its not hellary it will be someone else who takes this stance.

The President is not having a good week. He needs to straighten up his act. I'm the last person in the world that wants to regret his decision on the person he voted for.

Her motives are cynical, their effects may well be vital both to our national security and to our sovereign responsibility to control our borders.

It's sad that it takes HRC to get us to the correct side of an issue. Geeze.

This is a red herring. She is using immigration as a campaign ploy to steal Conservative votes. If she does get in she will never mention immigration again and she will resume her communist manifesto. What Hillary does is put the border issue in the spotlight making it impossible for Republicans to ignore. The election is in 4 years I guarantee there will be conservative candidates pushing for strict border policies. The republican primaries will be fun

Hillary might be crazy BUT she is defintly NOT stoopid..
She has diagnosed the republican disease correctly.. "I'm a Unite'er not a Divider".. has made the party sick almost to death and "IS" the disease.. The "CURE".. cut her off at the knees and CLOSE THE BORDERS, yes BOTH BORDERS..

THEN, 2006 and 2008 will be "good" years.. else republicans will have proven they can't handle power, and don't deserve any.. The Shrubs will follow Bush anywhere.. real, conservatives WILL NOT..
