Pollster Scott Rasmussen has some good news for conservatives who fear "Clinton III: The Return of Hillary."
Only 39 percent of voters would choose her for president in 2008, while 46 percent would back any Republican who runs against her, according to a Rasmussen survey conducted from December 3 5.
While polls against any generic candidate typically change when the candidate is named, polling below 40 pefcent is not a good omen for Hillary.
Indeed, her favorable rating barely edges her unfavorable by a margin of 45 to 42 percent - despite in the fact that she has earned decent marks as a Senator and is trying to move to the center on issues like immigration and national security.
The fact that 87 percent of voters already have an opinion about her is perhaps the most telling factor.
Rasmussen has bad news for John Kerry as well.
The same poll indicates that 42 percent of Democrats would like to nominate Hillary in 2008, compared to a mere 16 percent who'd like to give the Massachusetts liberal a second chance. 51 percent of Democrats believe that they need a centrist candidate in 2008.
hehe! :^)
Constitution Party sounded interesting, until I read their stand on the WoT. They, like the Libertarians, advocate cutting and running, withdrawing all overseas forces, etc.
[Can't be done in the modern world. Too many enemies. Too many powerful weapons. The USA has to stay 'international' to survive in the modern era.]
Au' Contraire...there is a vast difference (as in VRWC). McCain is pro-life, pro-business, pro-defense, and a unabashed deficit hawk. Hildabitch is the "Whore of Babylon!"
Nope. It's a done deal. The president in 2008 will be Hillary Clinton, just like everyone said about 2004.
McCain is PRO-LIFE!!!?????
THAT's really surprising.
Hillary could win a statewide seat in a Blue state. She'll NEVER be elected President.
You'll sleep better.
If McCain ran and somehow won the nomination, how many here want to bet that the press corps which adores him so much and extols him as a "maverich Republican" would turn on him in a nanosecond? They desperately want anybody with a (D) after their name to get in the WH that they'd throw McCain over so fast it'd make heads spin.
Exactly. McCain is more conservative than people give him credit for. Yes, I get just as frustrated as anyone else when he doesn't follow the party talking points, but he'll keep the country safe. That's what we should care about first and foremost, and as a staunch neo-con, he presents a MOST viable alternative to Hitlery, Hildebeast, Whore of Babylon, etc.
Although I think it's a moot point, cause she'll get taken down by Rudy, Pataki, or Powell anyway.
