TESTING THE FAITH City will prosecute Christian protesters
A federal appeals court denied an emergency appeal to stop prosecution of 11 Philadelphia-area Christians who allege the District Attorney's office retaliated against them for exercising their constitutional rights at a homosexual event in which they were arrested and later charged with felonies...the group was "preaching God's Word" to a crowd of people attending the outdoor Philadelphia "OutFest" event and displaying banners with biblical messages....the eleven Christians were arrested and spent a night in jail.(they were charged with)3 felonies and 5 misdemeanors. The charges were criminal conspiracy, possession of instruments of crime (NOTE:Bibles), reckless endangerment of another person, ethnic intimidation, riot, failure to disperse, disorderly conduct and obstructing highways. (...a video) show(ed) the Philadelphia 11 cooperated with police and were continually harassed by the Pink Angels.None of the Pink Angels was cited or arrested. The ethnic intimidation charge stems from Pennsylvania's "hate crimes" law to which the newest "victim" category of "sexual orientation" was recently added. (is there ANYBODY who didn't see this coming????) The protesters say a Philadelphia police officer told them that because they were on a public sidewalk they were permitted to move freely through the event. A few minutes later, however, they were arrested and removed. The Philadelphia 11 face a maximum penalty of 47 years each in jail.....(read more)

yup,,, and the homosexuals will be in the fore front as the useful tools of Satan and his demons.
Homosexuality/Feminism/ is evil, satanic, and demonic. Gays are just little demons running around spreading mayhem were ever they go. Homosexuality is nothing but a demonic spirit.

Except for the whole state religion thing.
First, there is no state religion. There is an established church in England (the Church of England) and a national church in Scotland (the Church of Scotland), but no state church in the U.K.
Secondly, this means diddly-squat for free religion. Those who do not wish to join the established church are not penalised in any way at all. Similarly, the established church is free (as guaranteed by magna carta) to deal with religion as it pleases.
BTW, what happens if the King or Queen decides to convert to Catholicism? Is he/she no longer head of the Church of England?
First, another error (though a very common one) the Queen is not head of the Church of England. King Henry VIII adopted the title Supreme Head on Earth of the Church of England, Queen Mary rejected this when she returned to country to Rome; Queen Elizabeth adopted the title Supreme Governor on Earth of the Church of England. A governor and a head are very different things.
Secondly, I am not sure of the case of a Monarch who converts, but those in the line of succession are removed from it if they convert, or if they marry a Roman Catholic. I believe that this law is eitherbeing repealed, or repeal is under consideration. As long as the Monarch did not interfere with the freedom (cf. magna carta) of the Church of England he/she could still be the Supreme Governor, just as a protestant or a non-Christian could. King James II was both Catholic and King, when the Crown was usurped by two houses of Parliament and William and Mary, Prince and Princess of Orange, among those most opposed to the illegal change in the Sovereign were some of the vociferously anti-Catholic Bishops.

The USA is going to hell in a handbasket, thanks to all the lawyers and the ACLU. I for one will certainly not dispute your statement. The legalistic termites are chewing their way through this country's foundations.
BTW, weren't you the FReeper formerly known as the "British Bulldog?" What happened, were you invaded by Normans or something? :)

So what about us Jews who happen to agree with y'all.
I should have included all people.
This does affect everyone, even atheists and gays. What will be the next anti movement? Will it be directed at Jews again? Maybe Catholics and very probably a violent backlash against the anti-religionists and gays. Instead of excluding people, we should be working for inclusion. I am no longer a Christian as it is sometimes used but I firmly believe that the Christmas Nativity scene has a place in the town square. I believe that Christmas carols are a part of any Christmas pageant.

1 The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet received.
2 How long, O LORD , must I call for help,
but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, "Violence!"
but you do not save?
3 Why do you make me look at injustice?
Why do you tolerate wrong?
Destruction and violence are before me;
there is strife, and conflict abounds.
4 Therefore the law is paralyzed,
and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
so that justice is perverted.
Habakkuk 1:1-4

Dear Editor (of the Philly Inquirer),
A few days ago, a group of citizens (11 to be exact) were arrested on public property for peacefully talking and demonstrating.
And even though these 11 citizens were verbally abused, harassed and spat upon by a hostile crowd, they remained peaceful and fully cooperated with the police.
Yet they were charged with criminal conspiracy, possession of instruments of crime, reckless endangerment of another person, ethnic intimidation, riot, failure to disperse, disorderly conduct and obstructing highways.
They are facing up to 47 years in jail each.
Now, in any normal society, the major newspapers of that city would be up in arms over such reckless thrashing of the First Amendment. They would logically come to the conclusion that their entire business (and jobs) are based on the preservation of the First Amendment and any abuse that could be use to silence peaceful citizens could one day be used to silence them.
But that is not how the city of Philadelphia works.
First Amendment "privileges" are now reserved for those who agree with the social policies of the media and of City Hall. Disagreement brings marginality and arrest.
Because the "Philadelphia 11" were evangelical Christians at a homosexual festival.
Not even in the darkest days of "Jim Crow" laws have such power and venom been brought to bear to silence a part of society.
Oh yeah, and the "possession of instruments of crime" - that was a Bible. The "ethnic intimidation" - that is from the newest "victim" category of "sexual orientation" to Pennsylvania's hate crime law where now you can be arrested for talking about the Bible in the wrong company.
And all this happened within walking distance of where the US Constitution was written and signed.
Best Regards,

The only thing that will stop it is to get these liberal judges off the bench. The only way to do that is keep electing conservatives who appoint judges. I know judges are appointed for life but if we can get a few of the worst impeached and elect conservatives to slowly replace the rest, then we will have decent thinking judges on the bench. The ACLU don't care how many Christians march. As long as they have the liberal courts on their side they will continue to persecute us.

This is unbelievable!!!!!! Where is the news media on this - THIS IS OUT AND OUT CHRISTIAN BIGOTRY AND BLATENT DISREGARD FOR THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH - dont expect any RINOs especially King Bush to say a thing. We must continue to keep this on the forefront I am extremely upset that a city would do this to peaceful protestors. I hope those in Philly who care about the law will do something. Where do we donate to help the legal battle for the 11?

"This is just more evidence that free speech only applies to minorities and moral deviants. Christians need not apply." That's very true, it's the heart of socialism to apply the law unequally and selectively in a quest for whatever the state (common) goal is...I figure the so called hate crime laws will be applied very selectively. In line with your suggestion, hatred will only be prohibited agains the favored groups.

Can't say we didn't see this kind of crap coming. I think this story needs some more exposure out here in the "red" states. I'm planning on emailing FOX this afternoon and asking them to give this story the attention it deserves.

I remember back in the early 60's when you would hear about this sort of thing in the future and how I thought that was just impossible. I couldn't imagine the Bible being banned but thats what is next.
