ST JOHN, New Brunswick, December 13, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - At a Convention Council meeting held in November, the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, responded to a judicial decree legalizing same-sex "marriage" for Nova Scotia. The Council warned that any Baptist ministers who solemnize same-sex unions would have their marriage licenses revoked.
"Be it resolved that no pastor or chaplain, who is registered as authorized to solemnize marriages under the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches shall perform or assist at any same-sex marriage ceremony, and if any pastor or chaplain does, his/her authorization to perform marriages shall be revoked by the Board of Ministerial Standards and Education," the decree read.
Disciplinary action against pastors solemnizing same-sex "marriage" may also include dismissal: "Furthermore, such action by any pastor or chaplain who performs or assists at any same-sex marriage ceremony may be subject to review and may result in the removal of his/her credentials/accreditation with the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches."

Protection for Religious Freedom in Homosexual 'Marriage' Legislation "Very Weak"

Won't be long until Canada outlaws such Churches.
Homosexual unions are totally lacking in the biological and anthropological elements of marriage and family which would be the basis, on the level of reason, for granting them legal recognition. Such unions are not able to contribute in a proper way to the procreation and survival of the human race. The possibility of using recently discovered methods of artificial reproduction, beyond involving a grave lack of respect for human dignity,(15) does nothing to alter this inadequacy.

The question being, just how long will it be before the Canadian court system sets out to force baptist ministers to marry gays.
"Homosexual activist Michelangelo Signorile, who writes periodically for The New York Times, summarizes the agenda in OUT magazine: ...to fight for same-sex marriage and its benefits and then, once granted, redefine the institution of marriage completely, to demand the right to marry not as a way of adhering to society's moral codes, but rather to debunk a myth and radically alter an archaic institution... The most subversive action lesbian and gay men can undertake --and one that would perhaps benefit all of society-- is to transform the notion of family entirely ." "Its the final tool with which to dismantle all sodomy statues, get education about homosexuality and AIDS into the public schools and in short to usher in a sea change in how society views and treats us."
Just wait, Canada might surprise us and vote against gay marriage. It doesn't matter what provincial courts rule. Much like when some states "legalize" gay marriage, it really isn't legal. Canada's supreme court rejected ruling on the issue, and tossed it back to Parliament to pass new law. So, it goes to a vote.
The gay vote will happen sometime in the new year in Canada. From the looks of things, it will not pass, and just might have another pleasant effect... bringing down the Liberal government and forcing another federal election. Hopefully, the Conservatives will win this time.
Anyone who's trying to rationalize this sort of argument should realize that it's nothing more than a rehash of the same radical, timeworn agenda espoused by Firestone and Friedan, among other sermonizers, whose vision of a Utopian American society has yielded us nothing more than a plague of illegitimacy, abortion, and a host of other social maladies.
I am shocked and outraged to learn that there are pastors who sodomize homosexual marriages.
It is bad enough that, in blatant contradiction of Scripture, they conduct such ceremonies. But to add insult to injury by performing such unnatural acts is an outrageous, unspeakable . .
What? The pastors didn't sodomize the marriages? They solemnized them? Never mind
Good for them! The sad thing is of course, is that this story is even "news".
Canadian Baptist Bump!! Grace under pressure.
