AIDS rate for homosexuals climbs; data called 'astonishing'
Dec 2, 2004
By Michael Foust

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--New statistics showing that homosexual men make up 44 percent of all new HIV and AIDS cases underscore the fact that homosexuality itself is unnatural, a prominent leader in the ex-homosexual community says.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released data Dec. 2 showing that the number of newly diagnosed HIV and AIDS cases has increased 11 percent among homosexual men. The data spanned a four-year period ending in 2003.

Despite the fact that homosexual men make up only 1 to 2 percent of the population, they nonetheless made up more than 40 percent of the new cases, the data showed.

Tim Wilkins, head of Cross Ministry, Inc. -- a Christian outreach to homosexuals -- called the data "astonishing."

"If homosexuality was normal and natural, you would not have a disease that spreads as ravenously as this does," said Wilkins, who is married now but once was involved in homosexuality.

Homosexual activists responded to the news by calling for better education and prevention -- for instance, the promotion of condom usage. But Wilkins said the problem can be found in homosexual sex itself. Men were not made to have sex with men, he said.

"All of mankind is physiologically heterosexual -- that's just a fact," Wilkins said. "One hundred percent of the homosexual community is physiologically heterosexual.

"We can throw more and more money, bigger budgets, bigger programs, more education [at the problem]. And we see that education is not correcting the problem at all."

For years, studies have shown that homosexual men are prone to promiscuity. A University of Chicago study released in 2003 found that 61 percent of homosexuals in Chicago’s Shoreland area had more than 30 sexual partners. Perhaps just as telling, some two-thirds of same-sex "marriages" in Massachusetts have involved lesbians -- underscoring, pro-family leaders say, the notion that homosexual men are less prone to commitment.

"[The CDC] statistic obviously shows a pathology that indicates an abnormality," Wilkins said. "From a Christian perspective we would call it sin."

Such statistics should result in the scientific community re-evaluating its position on homosexuality, Wilkins said.

The Christian church, though, should not respond by saying, "I told you so," Wilkins said. Instead, the church should respond with compassion.

"We can't allow sin in any form to repulse us from reaching out to people who are hurting," he said. "As horrible as AIDS is, it can be -- and I believe it is -- an opportunity for the church to reach people who are broken."

"Save a lot of money and cure the problem"
I say we should tax them as a special human part of the race. Kinda like the screwing that the smokers are getting now. I want to know how much is this special disease costing the health care industry and how much of my premium goes to fund a cure for the disease caused by a deviant lifestyle. We see all kind of studies on how much smoking costs even down to a ciggy and how it costs society $40.
Lets see how much it costs fer a poke in the rear! Lets not forget research and development too. We wonder why health care costs so much and here we have a good reason why!

Ummm

"NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--New statistics showing that homosexual men make up 44 percent of all new HIV and AIDS cases underscore the fact that homosexuality itself is unnatural, a prominent leader in the ex-homosexual community says."

So everyone who died of SARS meant that for some reason their lifestyle was unnatural?

What an idiot.

AIDS is everywhere - straight and gay.

It's not astonishing at all when you consider how aids is spread amongst homosexuals. They want to practice risky behavior, they must face the consequences.

That may sound very cold to some, but then I've never been one to beat around the bush.

" Bob Grant is fond of saying: if they stop putting you-know-what, you-know-where, the epidemic will be stopped dead in its tracks."

If we as a society treated this sexually transmitted disease the same way we treat any other STD we would see progress as well. Can you imagine the outrage if a new AIDS patient was presented with a form and told to reveal all their partners in the last 6 months?

Ultimately a fatalist approach like that leads straight people to (justifiably) question the mental fitness of the whole community. I can't say it does their cause very well.

To be fair, I am sure many folks in that community DO NOT want to get a killer disease.

No doubt due to a whole host of poor judgments, the 'cocktail' thing being only one of them. You are right.

A few years back (more like 7 or 8), I read an article in Esquire about AIDS-Deniers. These are people who believe that AIDS is a hoax rather than a disease. As a result, they shun all treatment for their "nonexistent" disease. Mixed in with them are other leftist loonies. One case in particular stuck with me: a student (who had been HIV negative) purposely had unprotected sex with an HIV positive man to make a "political" statement. Hopefully, this loser kept on being an AIDS denier--at least then, society wouldn't have had to pay big $$ to keep his sorry butt alive.

Much of that is probably due to the erroneous assumption that once infected, all they'll have to do is take "anti-AIDS cocktails".

Sounds simple. Too bad society gets stuck with the bill.

..the result of petulant, defiant behavior by the homosexual community....as with the resistance to the closing of the bath houses, the intellect somehow doesn't seem to be engaged. "I'll do whatever I want to, when I want to, with whomever I want to..."

They way I see it, ignore aids and it will eventually go away;
provide no money for medication and no money for hospice.

It's not my problem and further I have not one iota of compassion or sympathy. There is no cure for virus related illnesses. Hasn't anyone told these morons?

In the US, homosexual men have a 1 out of 7 chance (14.25%) of having AIDS. The chance of getting AIDS from heterosexual transmission is .0005%.

They reported that getting AIDS was somehow a badge of membership into the community and that enough folks were adopting the 'inevitablity' of getting the disease. Sort of 'I've got to be me,' only with a killer disease as a feature of 'being me.'

The reason AIDS hasn't been wiped out is that there are no tobacco companies to sue.

People addicted to a substance can cut the substance out of their lives, but those addicted to a hedonistic lifesytle are forever unwilling to exercise self-control.

It's the Baptists. They are surprised that there are any sinners at all. Everyone they know is a Baptist.

Brings to mind the canonical Baptist joke:

Q. Why do Baptists make love lying down?

A. So no one will think they're dancing!

...called the data "astonishing."

"Astonishing"? Call me jaded, but I think the word should be "unsurprising".

Even predictable.
