Iran expresses concern about deteriorating human rights situation in Europe

TEHRAN (MNA) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said on Sunday that Iran is seriously concerned about the rise in human rights violations in Europe and especially the rise in anti-Islamic sentiments and the treatment of minority groups.

Asefi made the remarks in response to a question about the decision of the European Union to lodge a protest with Tehran expressing concern about the human rights situation in Iran.

“The issue of human rights is on the agenda of Iran-EU talks and this is not something one-sided, and we have also some criticism about their (human rights) situation,” Asefi told reporters at his weekly press briefing.

“We have serious concerns about human rights violations in Europe, especially the rise in anti-Islamic sentiments in some European states, most notably in the Netherlands where a filmmaker insulted the sensitivities of Muslims by making a very unpleasant movie,” he added.

Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh, widely known for his criticism of Islam, caused uproar with his film "Submission" that links domestic abuse with the perceived subservient position of Muslim women.

Notice that this article fails to mention that Van Gogh was savagely murdered and nearly beheaded by a Jihadist.

From Van Gogh's "very unpleasant movie."

They said this while taking a break from stonings, hangings, and homicide bombings.

Because Islam does not permit criticism of itself (blasphemy), it does not (by natural extension) permit criticism of Islamic society.

Therefore, it is always someone else who is in the wrong.

Imagine what it would be like to be married to or just live with or work closely with a person who permitted no criticism of himself/herself and automatically blamed you for every discomfort and error in life.

That is Islam.

This is like Satan being seriously concerned about the rise in sin.

And the greatest insult to Satan is the truth...which is all van Gogh and Hirsi Ali tried to do, tell the truth about Islam.

Funny parallel, isn't it?

They ought to be worried about the human rights violations in their own country.

Ok, you tricked me. Yea, right, Iran giving a darn about human rights. That was good satire, but you should have posted it on April Fool's Day to see how many people you can pull in.

Ok, moderator, please take this post down - obviously it's a farce.

The next thing you know this guy will post an article about Democrats going to church.

This is a good website, let's stick to real events.

One needs to look at the not so hidden efforts to keep Islamists out of the European Union.
Turkey is an example. Germany's Secretary of State Joschka Fischer visited Turkey prior to the Iraq war to keep U.S. forces from landing there. A threat of refusal for Turkey to enter the E.U. did the trick of keeping U.S. forces at sea. Turkey even tuned down a much needed U.S. loan of $2.8 billion.
France, with 6-8 million un-integrated Islamists on their soil has no inclination towards further Islam immigrations.
Pressured for a continuation of crucially needed exports to Islamist countries i.e. Iran, to keep atrocious E.U. unemployment numbers of 10% from further moving upwards caused a change of heart towards acceptance in 2014 should Turkey make a number of changes by then.
Crucial business needs explains the favoritisms towards Palestine and antagonisms towards Jews.
Remember the busy busy relations of shipping goods to Saddam in spite of being fully aware of a human tragedy inflicted by a murderous tyrant upon it's own citizens.
Debts amassed by Hussein and held by suppliers France and Germany speak louder than words.

There are a lot of people here that think this article ties in very nicely with real events...no insult intended.

I am speaking of the War on Islam crowd.

This from a country which sentenced a 14 year old boy to 85 lashes for nibbling on a snack during Ramadan. He later died from the beating.

When can we nuke these vermin?

Or John Kerry saying, "Yeah, it was a tough fight but the American people have chosen and the better man won. So to all my supporters I say, 'It's time to set aside party differences and support President Bush -- and our boys in Iraq -- all the way!' "
