GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (AP) - An elementary school bus driver was fired after sharing a statistic she had read about embryonic stem cell research with students, then encouraging them to tell their parents about it.

I had to do a Google search to refresh my memory, but I remember the Heaven's Gate mess. Marshall Applewhite and his band of followers were a sad lot, but I am free of the kind of slavery that affects any person who does not yet know the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Jesus offers the gift of His salvation to all. Will you accept His offer today? Today may be your last on this earth.
"You think I got a constituional right to NOT have that happen? HUH?!! You're damn right I do!!"
That's what you posted...it speaks for itself. It speaks of a disturbingly chilling lack of judgment especially when it comes to this case.
At the root of all this is identifying the differnce between indoctrination and education.
What makes you so sure Mrs Mayors was doing the former?
For myself, I think the major difference is indoctrination tries to force a pupil to become what you want them to be, and education tries to liberate them to reach the potential that their Creator gave them. Thus they are mutually exclusive goals, and quite often at odds, as I beleive they are in this case, with Mrs Mayors being on the side of education.
My appologies "Mr Mayor". I had meant to include "The Mayor" in this last post.
It doesn't matter. Using the children, who are captive on the bus, for an "educational" lesson is unacceptable. No matter how worthy the info or the motivations of the so called "teacher" may be. I stress "may be".
Just a word for you and the others. Do not try this with my kid or I will put a stop to it...right quick.

Good gravy this discussion seems to have gotten your dander up! This latest post sounds like you have some bizarre objection to any education taking place on school buses (even algebra?).
And what's with the fixation on school bus captivity. Do you think kids are free to come and go in a regular class room? Or do you think that Mrs Mayors would stop the bus and not let any of the kids off unless they agreed or something?
That souns like the kind of argument I've heard about from DUmmys.
You seem incapable of logical thought. Are you saying that as a parent I would have no right to prevent a school bus driver from doing this with my child on board?
Association fallacy/Appeal to authority
Are you saying that as a parent I would have no right to prevent a school bus driver from doing this with my child on board?
Yes. Even as a parent you do not have the right to control everything that might said within your child's hearing. Such a right would ridiculously difficult to enforce, and would interfere with the rights of thousands of others.
You seem incapable of logical thought.
Your sensibilities on this matter appear to be in error. First of all, even apes are capable of some form of logical thought, and even some members of D.U. Though I infer you meant my ability was below normal (in order to lend emotional support to a losing argument). It is actually quite above normal, as almost anyone who knows me personally can confirm. I have always scored in the top 1 percent of standardized tests on logic, have a in B.S. Mathematics (because I was a lazy student; it was one of the easiest majors for me), and have ended up writing computer code for a living, with a particular flair for logical algorithms.
You brought it up. How am I supposed to know why you think it's relevant?
If you didn't want to answer this question when I originally posted it, why not just be a man and say so instead of acting so childish?
Follow along for one second, please. What are the odds that any of us on this thread would ever find ourselves driving the school bus that picks up your child? Why would you say something so angry and irrational? Did someone here threaten to find your child and talk to them about stem cell research whilst driving them to school in a yellow bus?
(Old Cracker looks around for hidden camera.)
Is this Candid Camera?
If you'd rather not talk about the subject of this thread, then perhaps you should go elsewhere to find something that interests you. I'm sure there's a chat room somewhere where people are happy to discuss whatever random non-sequitur happens to pop into your head.
It's not random and you know it, but if you prefer not to answer a straight forward question from an adult, then be my guest.
It's got nothing to do with this thread, and you know it. If you have nothing else to say, be a man and walk away. Or don't - I really don't care. But I see no reason that I should simply play along now that you've abandoned any pretense of rational discussion. When you have a cogent, relevant point to make, drop me a line, otherwise go waste someone else's time.
It was a question. I was just wondering what that thing about your Yahoo email count was all about. You put it on your homepage for everyone to see. Folks might think you're ashamed of it or something.
wanna see Mrs Mayor?

This is a video clip from the 6pm news
Mr Ramming still lying through his teeth insisting my wife quit.
I cannot wait to meet him and have a discussion about this issue.
I am still wondering where Mr Jack Burns is. He is the one that fired my wife.
Coward
See ya.
What about tort reform? You really want someone to have the right to sue an employer?
Just saw the clip and Jul spoke eloquently, calmly, and from the heart.
It seems apparent that Supt. Ranning is desperately covering his tracks and lying about the events that transpired while covering up for someone.
But who is Dr. Mel Gibson? I know the talking heads are not the brightest people going but come on...there is only one Mel Gibson and brilliant filmmaker though he is, last I heard he does not have a doctorate in medicine.
This is one of many reasons why the feds should stay out of "tort reform."
