ZOT! How does one contact a Free Republic "representative?"

A thread that I started got pulled without explanation by a Jim Robinson. I'm new here and don't know how to ask the appropriate person (Jim Robinson) why. How do I do that please?

You could post excerpts from "Mein Kampf", or "The Joys of Gay Sex". You could swear that Tim McVeigh was a patriot just doing his duty to the Murrah Building, and that Osama is really a nice guy. There's lots of ways to get banned.:)

Dear Spikey- Due to the large number of hateful, liberal trolls around here- The nicest and most intelligent freepers sometimes become very territorial.

After you have been here for awhile you will see why that is. Please forgive anyone here who has judged you unfairly.

Rule number one is not to second guess what Jim Robinson says- especially in public.

It is his forum- he pays the bills- that is the way it goes. Of course you are always free to disagree with him, find a different forum- or freep mail him ( go to your profile and go to mail and then compose addressed to Jim Robinson), with a polite request for an explanation. YOu will find that he is very helpful in describing the type of forum he has intended to create here.

The next time you have a question of this nature you can find a friendly freeper and post a private freep mail to them by hitting private reply on any thread and ask for some guidance.

I used the marquee when I first got here. Forgot to close it and the whole thread became a marquee. I caught it from everybody but LadyinRed figured out how to stop it.

I felt pretty stupid but hung around anyway.

Aww, stick around. These guys always pick on the new kid in class. There's a wide variety of intelligences and levels of maturity here.

Although I've told them many times to go easy on the new guys, they usually forget that at one time, THEY were new to FreeRepublic.

And in case someone hasn't pointed it out, your post probably got pulled because "wetback" may be considered a racial slur and doesn't look good on our front page.

I think you misunderstand my post. I never asked, or for that matter implied, that "We all just get along" nor did I ask that the whole world do that. I simply expressed my surprise at the responses of some members here to Spikeyinwis's simple question. As for being adult, that is just my point. I found some responses to be just plain jerky and, as you suggested, I was prepared to ignore them. The primary reason I responded to Spikeyinwis was to, hopefully, let him know that he wasn't as out-of-line as everyone would have him think he is. I guess that is not as adult as you would like me to be but, irrespective of my asserted immaturity, as you suggest, it can be ignored if it offends. Thanks for the implied invitation to join DU. I didn't realize I would reach the Free Republic's membership advisory committee!

A while back it was pretty standard for the "next poster" to start his post with a "</b>" but the programmers fixed that to automatically clear all formatting after each post.
