Okay. I am strongly considering this. I am currently unemployed. So money is a bit of a stretch for me right now. I live in Northern Virginia. So I don't have to worry about plane tickets or hotel prices. I just have to scrounge up the 175 bucks to attend. And I don't have a date for it, could use one. Ugh. Decisions, Decisions.

Ticket purchased? Check!
Dress selected? Check!
Room? Check!

That takes care of that!. Now, I know there is a dress code, but can/may I skip the shoes?

I'm gonna live life on the edge. I don't know yet what I'm doing. $$ ya know. But as I stated on another post I know for sure I want to go to any dinner that is planned and definetly do the parade with fellow FReepers. That might be all I can handle anyways financially. I don't know if we will stay or where if we do.

I'm just glad that I can do my part.

And that my business (and co-owner in Las Vegas)
allows me to work at home
and take time off as I need to.

I have a lot to be thankful for.

Wear your dancin' shoes, exit148... the ones you wore at the first FR Ball. Of all the ladies in attendance, you probably had the happiest feet in the place.

Once I find/make my dress, I'll pick shoes as comfy as your '01 shoes.

If there is a way I will be there.

Construction in Buffalo is hard these days, winters comin..
I would have a place to stay, if I can't make this I want to come at least for the inauguration.
Last time I was sick in bed..

"...we usually have to play behind chicken wire to keep from being hit by flying bottles and chairs!"

Great post!! Gov Huckabee and his band are grrreat! And his comment about chicken wire and flying bottles just reminded me of something.

Here's a video from our last ball: (adjust your speaker volumn and click on your connection speed about halfway down the page):

http://theonenetwork.com/playvideo.asp?type=music&videoid=u_tobykeith_ilovethisbar

And here's the lyrics for one of our favorite tunes (slightly altered of course):

I Love This BALL

(Toby Keith/Scott Emerich)

We got winners,
We got losers,
Chain smokers and boozers,
We got yuppies,
We got bikers,
We got thirsty hitchhikers.
And the girls next door dress up like movie stars.
Mmmm, I love this ball.

We got cowboys,
We got truckers,
Broken-hearted fools and suckers,
We got hustlers,
We got fighters,
Early birds and all-nighters,
And the veterans talk about their battle scars.
Mmmm, I love this ball.

Chorus
I love this ball.
It's my kind of place.
Just walkin' through the front door puts a big smile on my face.
It ain't too far.
Come as you are.
Mmmm, I love this ball.

We got short skirts,
We got high techs,
Blue collar boys and rednecks.
We got lovers, Lotsa lookers,
I've even seen dancin' girls and hookers.
And we like to drink our beer from a Mason jar.
Mmmm, I love this ball...Yes, I do.

Instrumental Interlude

I like my truck.
I like my girl friend.
I like to take her out to dinner.
I like a movie now and then.

But, I love this ball.
It's my kind of place.
Just twirlin' around on the dance floor puts a big smile on my face.
No cover charge.
Come as you are.
Mmmm, I love this ball.

Mmmm, I love this old ball.
