I note with interest that the study takes for granted the notion that these perverts were born perverts and were tormented by peers for being perverts when they were little.

Homosexuality itself is a mental disorder on the most fundamental level - humans simply aren't designed to work that way. Often enough it is merely one of many symptoms of deeper, underlying problems, quite often stemming from bad relationships with the same-gender parent.
It's the chicken-egg scenario. The authors have it backwards. It is the mental illness that precipitates their other problems, not vice versa.
I do wish there was some information available beyond the first two paragraphs. I don't foresee this triggering much useful discussion otherwise...
Having been bullied as a kid, this has a "well, duh" aspect for me. We all knew people who were suspected of being gay who got beat up or harassed regularly in school, it's like being fat or poor or a crybaby. I suspect other people are going to have a different conclusion about this common sense link.

Not a PC idea, but one that has not been debunked! When the Psychiatrics removed Homosexuality from being listed as a mental illness is had absolutely nothing to do with any new research proving that it wasn't. Simply Politics.

They've been ABUSED - sexually or physically. This has been known for YEARS! They're angry. They're emotionally confused.
I don't think actively homosexual men make good scoutmasters for Boy Scouts, any more than I think horny heterosexual males would make good leaders for Girl Scouts. But aside from the people who insist that they keep their hands off our kids, what sort of "discrimination" do they actually suffer? I know that if I said something critical to a gay person at my office, I'd be the one getting crucifued for it.

On the other hand, being gay might be a symptom of a mentally ill person who enjoys doing him/her/it/other's self harm.
