I would like to extend my deepest thanks for your support and generosity. Your gift will help out more than you could know. Your kindness is greatly appreciated!
Thank You!
God Bless you and your family!
Steven M Gardner
Steve wasn't running for Office, nor was he politicizing any particular office.
I just stuck a check for $50 in the outbox.
Yeah, I realize that O'Neill is a successful attorney. However, he was also the main spokesperson for the Swiftboat Vets.
A lot of people on here have been giving Gardner credit for beating Kerry. I'm very thankful for his role, but I don't believe he is the one that beat him. Even many of the folks on FR don't know who he is.
The credit goes first and foremost to President Bush. The next group of folks that should get credit are the ones like Karl Rove, Ken Mehlman, Mark Racicot, Ed Gillespie, etc. I think, just like SI named the entire Red Sox team the Sportsmen of the Year, the entire Swiftboat group should be given the credit as the surprise assistants of the year. But if you HAVE to pick one out, it's O'Neill. His name is now known in political circles. Gardner's is not.
Well, it's not one of the protected classes. Companies can hire and fire people for political reasons without reprocussion, I believe.
Ditto . . . plus a ten buck check from my nephew in Iraq.
"isn't that a risk that anyone who gets involved with politics takes?"
That was my take on this as well. Actions have consequences.
I agree. At least that's the message we preached the entire time regarding John Kerry's Vietnam record.
I am sure he knew the risk but could not take the risk that Kerry would be elected and then instead of just selling his military brothers out he would have the chance to sell our whole country!
Sent in $50.00 to Steve via paypal last night.
We protect and defend those who protect and defend us.
And happy to do it.
How do you draw that conclusion? I know that he was part of a group that put the truth out about Kerry. You have a weed in a tender place about people trying to help someone. If you don't like it, don't give.
I'm sorry, but, discrimination for any reason, is ILLEGAL!
Political or not.
Free speech rights extend to everyone, irregardless or your station in life.
To be fired for voicing your opinion or contempt for someone is not an exercise of legitimate 'company policy'.

Why not send them a line too?
Political activity is not the same as free speech (by the way, not all speech is protected either). There are nine protected classes that it is illegal to discriminate against: 1) Race 2) Color 3) National Origin 4) Religion 5) Sex 6) Disability 7) Familial Status 8) Age and 9) Marital Status. Political Persuasion is not a protected class.
"At least that's the message we preached the entire time regarding John Kerry's Vietnam record."
Unfortunately, there are those who have no interest in practicing what they preach.
I.E. Imagine the outcry here if some DUmmie set up a PayPal account for Dan Blather.
Sorry, but I'd rather give my money to a Children's Sclerosis Foundation charity or something similar, rather than to a guy who made a choice and now has to live with it. He's got his family and health, which is more than many kids at my charity can say.
Besides, he lives in Clover, SC - a bastion of conservatism. He should have little trouble finding work, especially in this recovering economy.
Dorky Colmes, great handle for him!!Dorky doesn't make sense 99% of the time. Really like the way Bill Bennett and Oliver North talk down to him and just ignore him most of the time. Hannity ought to be able to do better! but Oh Well..
My first said "just playing devil's advocate". I have no problems with people giving to Mr. Gardner. Just enjoying the conversation.
Why is that?
The Washington Times has an editorial about Steve in today's paper - A Veteran in Need.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm afraid that some people's charity is being misdirected. There are for more worthy causes, in my opinion.
