I'm sure this is a form email, but that doesn't take away from the message.

Checks can be sent to:

Steve also accepts PayPal at sgardner5@carolina.rr.com

Before anyone asks, Steve Gardner is a Swift Boat Vet front man who lost his job- as he became involved in politics.

Just playing devil's advocate here . . . isn't that a risk that anyone who gets involved with politics takes?

i saw that dorky Colmes trying to discredit Garner & Co on FOX last night. Boy, did Gardner give it back to him when Colmes stated, "your claims have been disproven." Gardner said, "Name one claim of ours that has been proven false?" Colmes had no answer. Great job, Steve.

So if I get fired from my job for being too politically active, are there going to be donations sent to me? lol

Has he thought about going on the speaking circuit? I'm sure he could make some money that way.

Only if you prevent Frankenstein from becoming POTUS.

binaryboy, most people couldn't help a dogcatcher win an election. Steve Gardner was in a position to make an impact and I believe he did.

If it can be established that you played a key role in keeping Hillary Clinton out of the White House in 2008, you betcha.

This may be true. However, shouldn't he have known the risk of losing his job when he began his activism?

Hey, I got one, too. It was awfully nice for him to take the time to personally thank those who are supporting him. It's even NICER that he (as mentioned above) helped prevent Frankenstein from becoming POTUS. Whew! A very BIG thank you, Steve and SwiftVets.

No offense to the man. I respect him greatly. But it was John O'Neill that should win the "Best Supporting Actor" award if political oscars were given out.

Washington Times also had an article on Mr. Gardner today. I'll be sending my $20 to him this morning. God bless him and his family.

Well, John O'Neil is a wealthy successful lawyer.

The big impact of Gardner was that he was (I think) the only one of Kerry's boat who had the courage to speak out.

He was very convincing. I don't mind helping him. It's not as though he was in politics--it was a special situation that came home to him in a big way. He served with the *@#%.

So being politically active makes you an automatic target to lose your job and possibly your home?

And you think this should be normal?

I'm glad your not a politician!

altura, Yes he served with the pretender. That's what made so much impact and why the MSM tried to ignore him as best they could.

No, it should not be a risk. If I work on the Bush or Kerry campaign, there should be no risk to my livelihood.

This seems like a First Amendment issue. If people can be fired because they supported one candidate or another, our country is seriously broken and needs fixing.

If you are proselytizing at work, that is a different issue, and should only be acted on if it is contrary to company policy regarding workplace behavior, or if it creates a hostile work envirionment.

The only time your livelihood should be at risk when you become involved in politics is if you ARE the politician or an appointee.

I think you are right, but the Swift Vets stood up to keep a traitor from becoming Commander-in-Chief, and I think they deserve a lot of praise and thanks for what they did as the vast majority of them were not political - they stepped out from the safety, security and obscurity of their lives to once again defend this nation against an enemy and I am deeply grateful to them for taking the risk that they did. They defended this country once before and they stood up once again and bravely fought an enemy of this country and we once again, owe them a debt of gratitude. Did they all know the demonization they would take from the press and the Kerry supporters and all the consequences of what telling the truth about Lurch would entail - I think they probably did, but they did it anyway for this great nation and for the men and women in the military today who they knew did not deserve a traitor as their Commander-in-Chief.

I think anyone who takes on the left - including the MSM - in this country is at risk in many ways as the left in this country has whipped themselves into a maniacal frenzy in their hatred of Bush, and have lost their minds, their hearts, and their souls. It should not be such a risk to get involved in politics, but sadly, for many who challenge the looney left and the MSM press in this country it is - and I think all the Swift Vets and POW's who came out to tell the truth about Lurch deserve a purple heart.
