I heard that today, like he said Canada's liberalism is 30 years past ours. Just as its true that Canada seems to be the country that the Clintons and DNC have as a model for America.
Every time socialism fails its still held up as a beacon, look at Castro and his supporters.
Luckily we still have a chance to stop it now and if that call isn't a motivation to keep the fight up I don't know what is..
Exactly. We Americans have a low tolerance for high taxes. Which is a good thing. We'd probably revolt before they imposed confiscatory Canada-style taxes here. After all we had the Boston Tea Party and Canada didn't.
Its the TAXES and how the government takes everything you earn. Here Rush interviewed one Canadian who has finally had it with the liberalism that's transformed the country into a North American backwater.
And it's precisely people who are taxed to death like that who feel they can't afford to have kids. This is a big reason old europe is dying (the muslims or course, are all on welfare, so they feel no such restraints).
Yep. Its like these socialist basketcases are Zero Growth states. Libs may like it but in the long run, its unsustainable. A country with 44 million is set to shrink not grow. And the outrageous taxes are part of what's spurring the best and brightest to leave because there's no reward for their talents.
BTW ... the NYC police forece seems to have 40,000 officers, not 15,000.

you think taxes in Canada are bad, you guys should have a look at the situation in countries like SWEDEN and NORWAY (worst country in the world).
Take a peek at the Forbes "Tax Misery Index"... it makes for interesting reading. You'll see from the top of that list which countries suck the most : Norway, Sweden and France.
High Taxes arent just annoying, they stifle entrepreneuism and discourage hard work and success. It breeds a lazy people. Not Coincidentally, Norway (highest taxes in the world) is also home to the LAZIEST people in the world.
Now I feel glad and even more after reading this that I do not live in Canada.
It would be a great idea for Rush and other hosts to make an effort to put several people from leftist countries on the radio each week, and let our citizens hear it from the horse's mouth.
We can tell folks until we're blue in the face, and they won't listen. I suspect they will listen to folks who have lived it.
Healthcare in socialist countries sucks. So do their taxes and standards of living.
Thanks for the post. It's a good one. This guy hit some great points.
Why be productive and make a contribution when society is indifferent or hostile to your endeavors. It just makes more sense to be taken care of. That's why we don't hear of many risk takers in high-tax countries.
Amen. I was born there but have no regrets about leaving.
Hey goldtategop, my bet is that a lot of Canuck FRers are going to go after you when you post something like this. You know, you have hurt their feelings ;-) and "It's just the Liberals! They don't represent us!". And you are just a traitor badmouthing your country of birth and misleading the Americans about the Great White North! ;-D
But I found their reasonings to be lame. There are only a few of Canadian FRers from the east of Sudbury that are really conservative - they may well be conservative in the current Canadian sense, but using Australian standards, hey, they aren't even on the Right at all - I can think of Bob Carr or Peter Beattie, both moderate Australian Labor Party state premiers (Carr from New South Wales, Beattie from Queensland), that represent these Canadian FRers' views perfectly. Alberta is the only Canadian province that I see substantial amounts of sensible Canadian commentaries exist. It's not surprising 80% of senible Canadian FR posts come from Albertan FRers.
Now I have nothing against Canada - my uncle, an enthusiastic Canadian Liberal Party supporter courtesy of his HK immigrant status - lives in ground zero of Anglo-Canadian leftism, the Greater Toronto Area. I also have many good friends and friends of my folks living in Vancouver. But politically, whenever we see idiotic commentaries come out, it's our duties to unmask that idioacy, whether we are Canadians, Americans, New Zealanders, Taiwanese, or even Burkina Fasoese.
;-)
If Americans want to do serious business of regional security, counterterrorism, geopolitics, go to Canberra and talk to John Howard or Peter Costello.
Great story.....the obvious answer is...Send all our Liberals up there and bring all those great conservative Canadians down here!!...I would much rather have a "right" Ex-Canadian living next door than a "left"-out American.
Yeah, I live just South of New Fallujah, closer to Detroit and have several friends who live in Windsor. I remember singing a gig in Windsor a few years ago and being paid in Canadian bucks (it was worth more then) and finding out just how difficult it was to get it exchanged for American dollars on the US side. One gal I know was born in the States and is married to a Canadian. She keeps her American money here. Lots of Canadians have moved to New Fallujah and its surrounding territory. :) Rush' caller and his wife should just come on over.
There is one minor correction to Rush's comments. It's not the CBC that stops Canadian radio stations from carrying Rush's programmes on the air in Canada. Rather, it is a government regulatory body called the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), that does so. The CBC is just the government-owned media service.
ooops this is Paleyo's mom, diva. Darn I keep forgetting to log in under my own name. !!!!!
Sorry honey.
Everything this irate young Canadian says is 100% razor sharp true.
The caller's comments about the pharmaceuticals was enlightening. Is there someone sharper than me that can explain why the big drug companies that do all the expensive research don't just pull out of the Canadian market and avoid the price controls and hassles? Let the Canadian government get their drugs from France, or Swaziland, or Myanmar, or someplace like that.
Having just gone thru several months of treatment for kidney stones, and previously for an ATV accident, I was struck by the number of Canadian nurses I met working just in two hospitals here in Michigan.
