No details.
The problem with Artest is he won't react until someone attacks us and then he'll go attack someone even if he doesn't know that was the person who did it!!
A "while you are out" PING
I have to say, I have never been a Ridge fan. I'm reluctant to post such a comment, but I will say I look forward to seeing who his replacement is.
Ridge steps down as homeland security secretary, officials say

(11-30) 10:20 PST WASHINGTON (AP) -- Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge has informed the White House and department staff that he has resigned, U.S. officials said Tuesday.
In an e-mail circulated to senior Homeland Security officials, Ridge praised the department as "an extraordinary organization that each day contributes to keeping America safe and free." He also said he was privileged to work with the department's 180,000 employees "who go to work every day dedicated to making our company better and more secure."
A news conference has been set for 2:45 p.m.
In October 2001, Ridge became the nation's first White House homeland security adviser, leading a massive undertaking to rethink all aspects of security within the U.S. borders in the wake of the terror attacks of September 2001.
Congress subsequently passed legislation establishing the Homeland Security Department, merging 180,000 employees from 22 government agencies. Ridge became the department's first secretary in January 2003.
He has presided over six national "orange alerts" when the government boosted security out of concern that an attack may be coming. An attack in the United States never happened on his watch.

I think that's under Norman Minetta's control, and it doesn't appear that he's going anywhere.
Kerik was not such a great police commissioner.
Borders ARE DHS.
Interesting timing, don't you think? Why while President Bush is out of the country?
RUDY RUDY RUDY!
Definitely! I can hear the crowd chanting, "Ru-dy, Ru-dy, Ru-dy . . . "
We'd be lucky to have him, from what I can tell.
Another Rudy vote here.
So when is Norm Mineta leaving???
And to heck with Asa Hutchinson. He has disqualified himself, in my opinion. Federal Immigration Law is the Law of the Land. It has not been repealed yet. However, as an official responsible for the carrying out of the Law by the Executive Branch of the Government, he is not doing his duty, re: Border Integrity and Security.
Mineta should have been the first one out (I mean in 2001), yet he's still there. Why?
Thank you MR. Ridge.
You've answered your country's call to service many times. You've served with honor. Future servants will have a view made possible by the foundation you've established.
God bless you and your family.
I am not certain Rudy will take it. G-d forbid something happens on his watch, he will be blamed, take the heat, be scorched by the libs and then lose in 2006. I think he knows this.
Don't think Rudy would take it either. I think he has his eyes on the prize in 2008.
