The National Research Council has estimated that the net fiscal cost of immigration ranges from $11 billion to $22 billion per year, with most government expenditures on immigrants coming from state and local coffers, while most taxes paid by immigrants go to the federal treasury. The net deficit is caused by a low level of tax payments by immigrants, because they are disproportionately low-skilled and thus earn low wages, and a higher rate of consumption of government services, both because of their relative poverty and their higher fertility.
This is especially true of illegal immigration. Even though illegal aliens make little use of welfare, from which they are generally barred, the costs of illegal immigration in terms of government expenditures for education, criminal justice, and emergency medical care are significant. California has estimated that the net cost to the state of providing government services to illegal immigrants approached $3 billion during a single fiscal year. The fact that states must bear the cost of federal failure turns illegal immigration, in effect, into one of the largest unfunded federal mandates.

I did a search ..didn't see it posted...probably should be..but I, refuse to post from or link to the Slimes..plsease feel free..it probably deserves its own thread...seems people getting fed up..and letting their feelings be known..and it may cause a sea change in local politics..

The POT has already been stirred....by this administration and congressional leaders who are more than happy to do NOTHING about this invasion no matter what the cost to it's citizen taxpayers.
Not to mention that the guy who started this thread never commented on it at all after post one.
Posting and running was frowned upon last I knew.

Wake up,my friend, smell the coffee. If thats the best arguement you have for an illegal invasion, what can I say? Go find my posts....all you will find is that I detest Buchanan, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. As for Tancredo, I have never promoted or voted for him, don't know much about him and don't care. I hold no alligence to any candidate or party, but to my country, like Sensenbrenner, Duncan, Hostettler, Hoeskstra and more.
Even here on FR, the majority is against the boneheaded immigration policies of this administration. Be careful who you insult.

If you feel as strongly about this as I do, then you will agree that there's no time like the present to get started. I believe that GWB will continue doing a great job on national defense and the war, but, as we all know, we also need to start shifting some resources to beefing up our border security. How do we do this?
How many cattle-cars will it take to ship 12 million people from point "A" to point "B"? And...would you be able to stand the public outrage at the sight of Hitler revisited?
We could start by enforcing the laws now on the books and stop handing out welfare to illegal aliens. But I can't do it alone and I bet you won't help. What is your solution? Or do you even believe there is a problem?
