Have just finished reading the numerous replies -- some of them truly heart breaking -- of this evening's post "Lost an Old Friend Today. Politics and the Personal"; and I find that far and away most of these intense,friendship-breaking liberals mentioned in these posts are women. (Obviously, not all.)
Add to this that in many news stories it seems to be chiefly women who protest this or that by climbing trees or running around with their blouses off; or that when it come to really off-the-wall legal ruling(s), college admin. decisions, local government declarations, etc. odds are pretty darn good that,well, cherchez le femme (Once again, obviously not all.)
So that got me wondering why are so many "everyday" (non-MSM types) female liberals so intense/noisy/nasty/passionate/insistent/mean spirited? The MSM types I can understand. After all, bad manners make good publicity, and good publicity sells more books, gets one more TV appearances, more time on the lecture circuit, etc.
But I'm talking about everyday liberal women who have nothing to gain, and so very much to lose.... Why do they do what they do and act the way they act?*
I'd sure like to here some opinions on that.
*(And IMHO not that many of them seem to mellow with age.)

It's no surprise that there is a correlation between drug use and liberal political beliefs, because in many respects liberalism is a drug of choice. See, by embracing liberalism, you abdicate all responsibility for your own life, and your unhappiness and boredom becomes a problem that someone else is required to fix in order to make you stop whining.

To me, it has to do with liberalism and feminism as faux-Christianity,ie. secular humanism. Therefore, there are no moral values of being polite, loving your neighbor, being patient. The values of feminism, for instance, are 'You come first,' 'Go for it,' 'What is it that YOU want?' (regardless of your husband, your children). Narcissism is not soft-edged. (Been there, done that).
Most flaming lib women I know came from environments with little to know strong positive masculine influence. There's something invaluably stabilizing about having a strong, affirming father. Women who had no father, a weak father, or an abusive father or stepfather seem often to manifest harsh qualities. The caricatures of the brittle androgyne or brash hypersexual lib woman are rooted in bad dadding. IMO.
The real difference comes the next morning, when the conservative woman finds she's waking up next to a man who's probably good husband and father material, while the liberal is waking up next to some putz who's going to use her toothbrush, take her phone number, and promise to call her later, but never will.
It is wierd how much crazier they act. I mean most liberal women are angry and unbalanced. The ones I run into at work seem detached from reality and REALLY angry. When you see one get out of a volvo with a Kerry sticker on it - GET BACK!

I don't think its any more women than men.
They are angry and resentful and hardened and bitter because they:
1) Have been "done wrong" by a men or, ahem, women
2) Hate themselves
3) Can't forgive themselves for real or perceived shortcomings or one "that got away"
4) Are moral relativists
5) Are irreligious, or blame God for their unhappiness
6) Use sex as a substitute for "love", but can't figure out why the relationship doesn't "work"
7) Were abused or lived an abusive situation as all they've "known" since childhood
8) Are by nature satanic, selfish, sadistic b*tches
Ay-ee, but what do I know...
Only the ones on TV. Most of the women I know at the church with are Conservative. They are the most helpful, loving, strong creatures I have ever met. They are nurturing but independent as well. Statistically speaking, the Conservative people are the most generous in giving to charities and the most generous in donating their time to people as well. The events I have gone to where a mass of Conservative people have met are clean and pleasant. I cannot say the same of my liberal friends.
Most liberal women I know are mature, kind, caring, and smart.
The liberal people I have met are just the opposite. I know a liberal who is a doctor and she drives like nobody else is on the road. She is rude and never apologizes for anything she does. She doesn't accept responsibility for hurt feeling of children. She thinks that her needs are more important. She is typical of the Liberals I have met. I live in a major city and the Lib's I know are almost all very self-centered and arrogant. They one's in power are more than happy to spend the taxpayer's money on questionable charitable but never give of themselves or their own money. If they do they are in the minority.
I have yet to meet even one who would volunteer to enlist in the military even before the wars to do something for their country.
