Is that an M14?

It certainly looks like one ... shot expert with the M-14 back in my Marine Corps days.

It's clearly not an M-1 Garand. A company called Springfield Armory sell a semiautomatic version of the M-14 to the civilian market under the brand name M-1A. But there's no reason to think the weapon in the photo is a civilian model.

Looks like a switch for some kind of illuminator. I'm guessing it will "paint" the target and bounce back a reflection that can be picked up by night-vision equipment better than what could be seen with ambient light. Just a guess.

Sure did, but it was well worth it! I'm going to be laughing all night. It just seems to fit so perfectly, and I can just imagine his humming that as he shoots. Well done:)

Serbu is about an hour north of me, in Tampa. Occasionally they're testing guys will be at the local range, trying out their latest brainchild.

Yeah, those boyz sure do have a great sense of humor!
