~ MILITARY SHORT SPEAK ~ |
|
The military seems to have a language of its own, with many terms, acronyms, initialisms and abbreviations that aren't generally used in the "civilian world." What is an acronym? It is a word created from the first letter of a series of other words. It is spoken as one word. What is an initialism? It is a word created from the first letter of a series of other words, but each letter is spoken separately. What is an abbreviation? It is a shortened version of a word. What is Short Speak? It is any and all of the above. Want to know what they are talking about? Read on... |

Sheesh!!! . . . you're making me tired Miss Betsy . . . about all I did today was bail water out of the toilet so it wouldn't overflow . . . YES WE HAD MORE RAIN IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS!!! . . torrents of it . . . and seeing as we're on a septic tank and the drain field is saturated . . . I'm bailing water . . .LOL!!! . . . I tried to take the poor little next door neighbour girl over to the Mall for an "Emergency" . . . and could not get out of the neighbourhood because of water absolutely pouring over the roads every way I turned . . . and believe me it's not smart to drive over low water crossings . . . people do it every time we get these torrential rains and unfortunately some of them pay the ultimate price . . . they drown.Canyon Lake, Texas

Lol Fawnn! Heeheee... I had a grand adventure this weekend. I finally live in a place where there is a Williams and Sonoma at my local mall! I love that place. I just like being there.. I don't buy much- I mostly daydream there.
I bought some mulling spices and some pecan Pumpkin butter for a pumpkin pie cake. They were giving out samples of this cake at the WS store and my Jimmy went back 4 times for more. I hope mine will turn out as yummy as the one they were handing out!

Pumpkin cake sounds delicious! (Probably even more so 'cause I'm starved!!!) ;)
I'm going to make some pumpkin mousse tonight. If all goes well, I'm going to my daughter's tomorrow and we're going to make pumpkin bread.

How was your day, Ms. B?
Know what I just found out? You've heard of "Virgin Wool from New Zealand?" It's a myth.
