[history]
President Bush stepped into the middle of a confrontation and pulled his lead Secret Service agent away from Chilean security officials who barred his bodyguards from entering an elegant dinner for 21 world leaders Saturday night.
Several Chilean and American agents got into a pushing and shoving match outside the cultural center where the dinner was held. Bush noticed the fracas after posing for pictures on a red carpet with the summit host, Chilean President Ricardo Lagos and his wife and first lady Laura Bush.

This reminds me of one of my favorite episodes of Babylon 5, where Captain Sinclair bails out his security chief, Michael Garibaldi, when Garibaldi's been surrounded by a gang of thugs and nearly meets his end.

Well, this is the stupidest thing to happen today. I know it's Summer down there and hot but aren't those guys more professional than to get into a childish shoving match?

I am pretty sure you're "big time folks" to those troops you've been supportin'...I know President Bush would think so too! (((2Jedismom)))
I gotta tell ya, I just can't say how much I love W and the rest of the guys. It just overwhelmes me.

I remember that. Clinton was screaming. Heeheehee.

He went to China by himself, and cut the trip short because he wanted to be with her.
Then I think they both went to Asia together shortly after that, and that's the trip......I think.

AND thanks to any other servicemen and women who might be reading this, AND thanks to their families for their sacrifice. I don't have any family memebers in any of the services, but thru FR have gotten to know some . . . God bless you all!

Have a great Thanksgiving with your s-i-l and thank him for his service for me. (And maybe let him have the drumstick or whatever piece he wants this year!!!)

Great memory. But Babylon 5 was a script and fiction.
THIS was real and in the middle of WW4.

Scary was my first thought. I don't like the idea of W separated from his security detail in Chile.

That must be it. You probably have pictures of it, don't you? I seem to remember some really pretty dresses on Laura . . . unless that was the year of the ugly bows in funny places . . .

GWB is the first president I have loved. And I am pretty old. I liked Reagan, I really really liked his father but I love this President. We are so blessed by him.

But this should not have happened and it pi@@es me royally. The SS ought to pull him out of Chile now and tonite. Something is wrong when his SS is interfered with and it is not good.

This makes me proud and on the light side the SS agent probably gonna get some teasing but this also concerns me. Why were they separating him and would anything have happened if he had not have turned around and gone back? In a later picture the rescued SS agent looks on high alert and watching their back. When are they coming home?
