Clinton rips Starr, coverage by media-Calls prosecution 'embarrassment'
Boston Globe ^ | 11/20/04 | James Jefferson, AP

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- In a prime-time television outburst, Bill Clinton ripped old nemesis Kenneth Starr and what the former president portrayed as a gullible media eager to report every ''sleazy thing" leaked from a prosecutor bent on bringing him down. The exchange came in an interview with ABC news anchorman Peter Jennings that aired Thursday night, hours after Clinton opened his $165 million presidential library. Clinton blasted Starr and spoke disdainfully of a media that he suggested was complicit in a scheme to ruin his presidency.

''No other president ever had to endure someone like Ken Starr," Clinton said.

[snip]

Clinton added that he does not care about what his detractors think about him. Jennings then said it seemed to him that Clinton did care.

The former president responded, ''You don't want to go here, Peter. You don't want to go here. Not after what you people did and the way you, your network, what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every, little sleazy thing he leaked. No one has any idea what that's like."

[snip]

''You never had to live in a time when people you knew and cared about were being indicted, carted off to jail, bankrupted, ruined, because they were Democrats and because they would not lie," he said. ''So, I think we showed a lot of moral fiber to stand up to that. To stand up to these constant investigations, to this constant bodyguard of lies, this avalanche that was thrown at all of us. And, yes, I failed once. And I sure paid for it. And I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the American people. And I'm sorry for the embarrassment they performed."

Klintoon has never been a man, only a anti-american communistic coward with a perverted libido. Klintoon and shrillary deserve in each and will bask in the ambience of hell. I do believe shrillary would gimp the POS with the duct tape. Your post is the reality of shrillary in action.

Interesting your remarks. Dick Morris said the exact same thing some time ago, behind the affability and faux warmth, is a very cold person.

I think Clinton is a narcissistic sociopath and could have been taken down for so many things. But as much as the Lewinsky saga offended me, it was not the thing to take him down on. I hope you all understand when I say it hurt us as much as it did him. That dirty little thing should have been kept where it belonged, under a rug. I think I get almost as disgusted when thread on this goes the way it always does as when I heard about the blue dress.

His take down had many other routes and those kind of got lost in the sensationalism and prurience.

Hinckley, I agree with your assessment of that low-life Clinton in that clip. But he wouldn't have the courage to actually act on his own -- to kill. He'd have others act on his behalf, but his rage is the rage of the coward, the liar, the weak. He really is a despicable human being -- but in many respects, he isn't worthy of our thoughts and cares anymore. He belongs down the memory hole -- like his presidency.

If you watch the clip, you see and hear the cold, soul-dead psychopath in its purest form.
?
Yeah and I still remember the naive posters on this site praying for him during his bypass thinking he was going to have some kind of conversion

I posted then that they didn't realize he and Hilliary are evil in its purest form and prayers ain't gonna work

" ...from a prosecutor bent on bringing him down."

As I recall, it wasn't the prosecutor who was 'bent?'

hmmm, I've read all 77 posts *as of typing this) and must say I'm somewhat disappointed of those who watched the clip with Peeta and missed something that was extremely obvious (to me)...

Since his heart surgery Billy Jeff's nose is no longer RED! He's finally off the cocaine.

His 'habit' was also the reason (IMO) for the delay in his surgery. They had to wait for him to 'come down' and his body purge as much of the drugs as possible or the anesthesia would not have 'worked'. Anesthesiologists HATE 'heavy' drinkers and druggies as they have then have to compensate and then pump so much into the patient it reaches dangerous levels.

I'm NOT an MD but I have 1st hand experience on this matter as I used to drink 'a lot' in my stoo-pid younger days. (Now I don't drink at all)

"No other president ever had to endure someone like Ken Starr," Clinton said.

Oh, I don't know about that, Billyboy.

President Bush had to endure your best bud sKerry for six, long months.

BTW, great finesse job of getting him to loose by just enough. Your help in this regard is certainly appreciated. (Did I just thank X42? Wow!)

''No other president ever had to endure someone like Ken Starr," Clinton said"

And America never had to endure someone like this POS as president before either.

How dare anyone embarass him by calling attention to his crimes. He still thinks it's all about him, never once thinking about what a terrible embarassment he was/is to this country.

If you watch the clip, you see and hear the cold, soul-dead psychopath in its purest form. The emotion was not hurt, it was animal rage, tightly coiled like a cobra preparing to strike. If you watch Bill Clinton with Jennings, you are looking at a man in a state in which he could and would kill without blinking an eye.

Yes, yes, perfect! But there was also the sociopathic complete removal of himself from it all. Truly frightening.

Bill Clinton disrespected the Presidency more than any other American President. He disgraced his country, his family and himself. To Clinton I say "good riddance."
