Clinton rips Starr, coverage by media-Calls prosecution 'embarrassment'

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- In a prime-time television outburst, Bill Clinton ripped old nemesis Kenneth Starr and what the former president portrayed as a gullible media eager to report every ''sleazy thing" leaked from a prosecutor bent on bringing him down. The exchange came in an interview with ABC news anchorman Peter Jennings that aired Thursday night, hours after Clinton opened his $165 million presidential library. Clinton blasted Starr and spoke disdainfully of a media that he suggested was complicit in a scheme to ruin his presidency.

''No other president ever had to endure someone like Ken Starr," Clinton said.

Clinton added that he does not care about what his detractors think about him. Jennings then said it seemed to him that Clinton did care.

The former president responded, ''You don't want to go here, Peter. You don't want to go here. Not after what you people did and the way you, your network, what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every, little sleazy thing he leaked. No one has any idea what that's like."

[snip]

''You never had to live in a time when people you knew and cared about were being indicted, carted off to jail, bankrupted, ruined, because they were Democrats and because they would not lie," he said. ''So, I think we showed a lot of moral fiber to stand up to that. To stand up to these constant investigations, to this constant bodyguard of lies, this avalanche that was thrown at all of us. And, yes, I failed once. And I sure paid for it. And I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the American people. And I'm sorry for the embarrassment they performed."

The guy still just doesn't get it. He's the one who embarrassed and lie to the American people and yet, it's always someone else's fault? There wouldn't have been a Kenneth Starr if Slick Willy had played by the rules.

Heard this tape on Larry Elder tonight.

Clinton's sheer grossness and utter lack of class are really chilling when you actually hear his voice. There's something almost subhuman about him. Hearing tough questioning from an arrogant liberal like Peter Jennings must have hurt like hell.

Richly deserved.

Perhaps Ken Starr has a distaste for "cigar" smokers.

Ahm, no he was trying to bring down a President who leaked, (a dress comes to mind) and tarnished the office that not all but enough of the public entrusted him to respect with his Presidential deed and not destroy through selfish and impetuous actions.

''No other president ever had to endure someone like Ken Starr," Clinton said. ''No one ever had to try to save people from ethnic cleansing in the Balkans, and people in Haiti from a military dictator that was murdering them, and all the other problems I dealt with, while every day an entire apparatus was devoted to destroying him."

Sniff.

The way "his people" (Jenning's) repeated every little thing "he leaked"?...It was Bill's people, including the MSM, who leaked the juicy details which served two purposes: (1) sensationalism, (2) as a foil to divert focus away from high crimes and misdemeanors.

Ken Starr was appointed by Janet Reno, to divert attention from greater crimes including selling ICMB tech to the Chinese Military, exchanged for campaign contributions, etc.

Clinton: always blames the other guy.

Kerry: always blames the other guy.

Twisted characters with twisted characters.

When my liberal friends here in Europe ask as they often do, "how do you know Clinton lied, comitted perjury, tampered with witnesses and tried to fix a case?"

I reply, "because we have the DNA"

Can you imagine the revisions if the dress had not been saved?

If you watch the clip, you see and hear the cold, soul-dead psychopath in its purest form. The emotion was not hurt, it was animal rage, tightly coiled like a cobra preparing to strike. If you watch Bill Clinton with Jennings, you are looking at a man in a state in which he could and would kill without blinking an eye.

Hearing him lie like that on purpose makes me sick.

I read "Hillary's Secret War" by Richard Poe, excellent book.

The real story here is what's got up Peter Jenning's butt?

Is he throwing a tantrum because he blames Clinton for Kerry's loss?

Old Slick Willie is a lot grayer, a lot weaker, but no wiser. It is still all about him. The classic narcissist done in by The VRWC. Still the victim.
His presidency was only the first act of what was always meant to be a two stage deal, first 8 years of Bill, then 8 years of Hill, but it is still all about him.
Getting her in the White House (God forbid) so he can be back in power.
