LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- In a prime-time television outburst, Bill Clinton ripped old nemesis Kenneth Starr and what the former president portrayed as a gullible media eager to report every ''sleazy thing" leaked from a prosecutor bent on bringing him down. The exchange came in an interview with ABC news anchorman Peter Jennings that aired Thursday night, hours after Clinton opened his $165 million presidential library. Clinton blasted Starr and spoke disdainfully of a media that he suggested was complicit in a scheme to ruin his presidency.''No other president ever had to endure someone like Ken Starr," Clinton said.

Clinton added that he does not care about what his detractors think about him. Jennings then said it seemed to him that Clinton did care.
The former president responded, ''You don't want to go here, Peter. You don't want to go here. Not after what you people did and the way you, your network, what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every, little sleazy thing he leaked. No one has any idea what that's like."

''You never had to live in a time when people you knew and cared about were being indicted, carted off to jail, bankrupted, ruined, because they were Democrats and because they would not lie," he said. ''So, I think we showed a lot of moral fiber to stand up to that. To stand up to these constant investigations, to this constant bodyguard of lies, this avalanche that was thrown at all of us. And, yes, I failed once. And I sure paid for it. And I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the American people. And I'm sorry for the embarrassment they performed."

Is he throwing a tantrum because he blames Clinton for Kerry's loss?
It's fun to watch them eat each other.
If Hill were president, Bill would be duct-taped to a wheelchair and planted on the WH balcony. He's not the man he was, and only time will tell if he regains his strength. If he doesn't, Hill will use him as a prop, and when he dies, she'll have him stuffed and mounted on the wall.
"The Clinton library is going nowhere fast."
In an affront to trailer parks through out he the South, a European journalist described the Clinton Library as resembling nothing more than an oversized trailer house.
The real horror about Clinton is that Monica is what tripped him up. He was guilty of so much more, treason, bribery, probably murder, and certainly the deaths of many thousands of Americans. Monica. He should be thrilled the rest wasn't brought up and thrown in his face. However, history will document all of it, and that's what scares him.
I really like this death by a thousand cuts Clinton is bringing on himself. So fitting.
Yes. I couldn't watch it, but I saw the promos.
Along came FreeRepublic, and overnight a tranformation. What this forum has done is provide a loud voice and evidence that liberal thought is not mid-stream America. The MSM has become unimportant in my life.
Hey! You been living my life, Dusty?
Get out of my head!
Same scenario, here. Found Rush on the AM dial in '88. Found "The Whitewater File" on Drudge and started lurking here on FR in '98 and jumped in and registered during the campaign of '00 (June 2000).
Ah, well,.....that is not sand, you see. Rather another substance entirely.
regards,
It could be tiring though. Make a speech, drag Billy, make a speech, drag billy...
You are not kidding! Jennings was being seriously warned off by Clinton.
Regards,
Anyone who reads Ann's excellent treatise would realize what a load of crap this is. Starr???? had to be a paid operative of the rats or both those scumbags would have been indicted. Clinton would have got it in February before months of spin got people too tired to go on. We could never count on the senate because of the 900 files, but a decent prosecutor would have rid America of these two via a felony conviction.
''No other president ever had to endure someone like Ken Starr,"
"Not after what you people did and the way you, your network, what you did with Kenneth Starr. The way your people repeated every, little sleazy thing he leaked."
Ole Billy's still pissed at ABC for telling the world about "that stain on Monica's dress"... and then DNA proved it was from a slick willie.
I think of all of the victims the Klintoons left in their wake, I think Ken Starr suffered the most. (Please don't think I'm minimizing the impact they left on all those women the pervert victimized). In "Bill's world" Ken Starr was the enemy......why the audacity of that man actually trying to get at the truth of a dangerously corrupt administration in Arkansas as well as WDC! Sad thing is there are hundreds and hundreds of people who believe this crock!
Clinton has NEVER had to accept responsibility for anything
he has done . . and what we know about what he has done is
enormous . . one has to wonder, just how much do we NOT
know about? Does any gullible person out there really
think Monica was the youngest and the only intern who
worked in the Oval Office he may have dallied with? It
is certainly impossible not to wonder about it. No one
would come forward as they saw what happened to Monica.
That girl's life has been really messed up by this lecher,
and her own mistakes. It was odd that she seemed to KNOW
that the job involved having to "earn her Presidential
kneepads". Was it common knowledge among girls applying
for that job?
Read this before you allow yourself to pity the bubbaloon ever again.
Billy Clinton, with all of his obvious political skills, never received more than 49 percent of the vote. Why do the Democrats think his Mrs. Arafat-kissing, socialist, Emily-Listed, corncob-up-her rear wife will do any better?
clinton rips ringo starr? I'm sure it's because he looks so much like arafat..perhaps clinton is in the "anger" stage of grief and is taking it out on ringo.
