IMPORTANT: For years, many of us have wondered how the US
allowed bin Ladin to attack and murder 3000 Americans per hour.
More has come out.

Apparently Scheuer (CIA traitor undermining President Bush
and the United States) continues to purport that Osama is a 'great' man
rather than a scumbag terrorist target to take out.

Even more incredibly, Scheuer's missives indicate that while at the CIA
he also had a big role to play in telling military officers
to ignore President Bush.

"Scheuer ... even goes so far as to call on America's
generals to resign rather than execute orders that
"they know [...] will produce more, not less, danger to their nation".

A full and very important thread on this is here
Check it out. This is as hard to believe as the sun stopping for 5 hours.

Isn't it treason to countermand the Commander-in-Chief?
Will this be ignored, like Sandy Burger-Burglar, too?

Only if he was military. He wasn't. It's not.

But he should have resigned rather than stay on the Federal dole while being -- if the report is accurate -- insubordinate. Sounds like his ideas are sincerely derived and held but his externalized energies misdirected.

RE: "Bin Laden... draws support from much of the Islamic world, which resents the US not for what it is, but for what it does - supporting Israel almost uncritically, propping up corrupt regimes in the Arab world, garrisoning troops on the Saudi peninsula near Islam's most holy sites to safeguard access to cheap oil.

"America ought to do what's in America's interests, and those interests are not served by being dependent on oil in the Middle East and by giving an open hand to the Israelis," ... "If we're less open-handed to Israel over time we can cut down Bin Laden's ability to grow. Right now he has unlimited potential for growing."

I'm curious. Exactly with which of Scheuer's points above do you disagree? Scheuer might have gone over the top in some statements, but I believe that everything I've read concerning his read on UBL has been spot on. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Isn't it treason to countermand the Commander-in-Chief?

thanks for the note. initally, i figured scheuer quit and was mad at his intermediate bosses, the ones that are in the process of being rooted out by bush. given that, i figured scheuer was probably a misguided, but honest, man.

the more i hear about this guy, the bigger a jerk he seems to be. on the one hand he wanted to get ubl, but later he works against the president. i think scheuer is having some anxiety difficulties, and has a strong need to be "seen". i would not trust scheuer if my life depended on it.

his actions should be investigated for charges.

Typical liberal and typical communist: They totally fail to grasp the military mind. Here's proof: Story passed down in my family now all long gone of course, so there's no real verification but illustrative nonetheless. My Great Grandfather was a general officer in the army of the Czar in precommunist Russia circa 1916. At the time of the communist revolution he was with his division in the field and the order went out to the enlisted men to "assassinate your officers and return home." My gramps troops encircled HIM and said: You wanna kill him? Gotta kill US first! Such is the relationship of troops to a good commander. I've had commanders I felt that way about. But liberals/commies don't understand the mindset. All they see is oppression.
