NBC said the Marine, who had reportedly been shot in the face himself the previous day...

It's not too hard to beleive he would to what he had to to protect himself & the rest of the squad.

Sounds to me like he shot a dead terrorist making sure he could not blow himself up and kill the Marines friends and officers...

The reporter needs to be beaten severely

imo

Contrary to what the liberal media would have the public believe, war is not Hollywood.
There are no "second takes!"

And if anyone thinks they can do a better job, they are welcome to enlist.
In fact, I will be glad to take them down to the Marine Corps recruiter myself.

Kelly

What's the big deal? The guy who was shot by the US Marine was a terrorist. Just to remind you about waht terrorists do:

The soldier did what we wanted him to do, he just did not follow the book precisely. So what? Give him a reprimand, and get on with it.

"I would have shot the insurgent too. Two shots to the head," said Sergeant Nicholas Graham, 24, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. "You can't trust these people. He should not be investigated. He did nothing wrong."

Amen. Testify!

---it should be pointed out to the media that during early WW2, upon discovering that the Japs practised deception with booby-trapped wounded and dead that it became SOP to shoot them again to be sure they were harmless--it was reported in the media as a sign that GI's were becoming experienced and wise to the ways of the enemy---

The U.S. military has been embarrassed by scandals in Iraq, most prominently the Abu Ghraib affair in which at least eight U.S. soldiers have been tried or face courts-martial over the abuse of prisoners at the jail outside Baghdad.

Should read ... "overblown, media-hyped scandal..."

Sorry but these POSs don't want to play by the rules then neither should we. They did the same thing in Desert Storm, fake surrenders and fake deaths. They need to be eradicated from the face of the earth.

I just called NBC Washington. It took four calls being hung up on until they put me through to some manager.

I think NBC was ready to be given the Pulitzer Prize for this story and they are in shock how it is being received.

CALL NOW AND COMPLAIN

I'm glad the Marines on the ground are vocally supporting their comrade. I hope there's a ground swell of support from us as well. A shot heard round the world? Hellsbells, there should be loud show of support heard round the world too.

I simply cannot believe we still allow any - repeat ANY press or media to tag along with combat troops!

Sometimes, we can be so incredibly stupid it boggles the imagination. We truly do make most of our own problems.

OK...here's the standing order for the rest of the time we're eliminating terrorists.

NO - repeat NO media, press with cameras (other than approved military recorders as approved by next higher command), press with written notes, or other civilian types are to be allowed within fifteen miles of any known or suspected combat operations. This is for their own safety.

This order is to be implemented with Draconian swiftness and vigor NOW.

Further, any media, press with cameras, or other civilian types now "embedded" with units are to have all papers, cameras, film, notes or other paraphenalia confiscated (reasons of National Security) and be immediately evacuated to a place not less than 15 miles distance from the unit and no closer than 15 miles from any other military unit.

Proceed.
