I'm going to start with a communication of support of this young Marine, to the Commandant of the Marine Corps himself. Then, President Bush and my Senator/Congressman.They are going to hear from me and I have all friggin day to do it. I am so livid about this that words cannot describe. As a former Marine myself, this young "Leather" was doing what he was trained to do, adapting to unreasonable circumstances (enemy tricks) and he did exactly what I would have done and what has always been done with a fanatical enemy. If authorities hang this Marine out to dry, I will never stop raising hell and will become a point man for pulling these guys out of theater entirely...MSM is SICK. Other suggestions?
This is the one sign I still have on my car, and it will remain there, for obvious reasons.
Dear Lunatic Fringe,
Your name sounds impressive, but have you ever been in combat?
If you have, I'd be interested to know under what circumstances. When one gets no more then 2 hours of sleep per night (A sleep that borders on total wakefulness or total shutdown) and then gets put into a situation that is far more intense then I ever saw in Vietnam (We fought in jungle and rice paddy, not in a city), then this young man does not have the liberty of "Monday morning quarterbacking" that you have condemned him with.
In every war I have studied, and the war that I was in, wounded enemy have been sent to their ultimate fate by American fighting men. Your reply tells me that you've never been in that kind of situation, and if so, you have completely forgotten what it was like to have been in a split second decision that rests your entire being.
Had this person been deserving of these kind of charges then he would have shot the embedded NBC correspondent along with the wounded "insurgent" on the ground.
After I get done with this I'm going to call the Marine Corp and tell them that I support this man, but if this young man gets convicted and sees one day of jail time because people like yourself think that "rules" apply in a war, then you get ready to do the fighting over there.
I want to see you go through basic and advanced training and all of the practice they give people before sending them over and then I want to see you with 2 hours of sleep (if you're fortunate)per night. I want to see you develop friendships with people and see the pictures of their families, their wives and girlfriends, and then I want to see you wearing their brain and flesh on your uniform when an "insurgent" sniper (who has picked off more than just your closest friend)or a 12 year old pops out of a sewer and lobs a grenade at you,(with the fuse cut so you have time enough to say "Oh s...". I want you to taste the fear,(It tastes like your sucking on copper pennies with a totally dried out mouth)and you and the last remaining men in your squad get the order a 2am to flush this "insurgent(s)" out. He/she comes out with his/her hands up, or is laying in a corner of a Mosque, and you see a twitch from their body, and when the smoke clears, you see some embedded jerk who hasn't earned the right to be on the same ground with you filming your politically correct one way ticket to the Brig, because there was no "clear threat" coming from him/her.
Our cemetaries here and overseas are filled with those who hesitated and never came back. Sometimes, during their hesitations they got their own people killed along with themselves.
The only rule in war, is to survive it the best way you can, and that's done by not letting the man next to you down.
If your line of thinking is going to rule this military, then we all better start getting to know how to recite The Koran in Arabic.
thanks...ill post more pics up of both wars when I get a chance.
I just emailed this fool, and I feel a bit better...for the next 5 minutes anyway...suggest we all tell him how we feel...
agree....
There was no indication that the Terr was so wired.
When you are inside a building and you see a wounded terrorist who appears to be faking death, how close do you get to take a good look and how long do you look to determine this?
Actually they do. Just because the insurgents/terrorists/cockroaches don't abide by them, the US signed them, we must operate by them. It just makes our job over there that much more difficult.
Look.. I didn't come to this thread to get into a lengthy debate into whether or not the media is good or bad. If you want to like them, have at it. I don't. In fact, I despise them.
I posted what I posted to show support of that young Marine, not to open a can of worms.
Have a good day.
However much I abhor WAR, I equally, if not even more strongly, hate those in our own county who DESPISE OUR OWN MILITARY AND OUR OWN COUNTRY.
As I said, these factors, and a desire to continue to lash out at Blue State America since they stand for everything I oppose, cause me to side with the Marine in this case, and tempt me to write on his behalf, something I might not normally do.
I just sent to my patriotic brothers and sisters this email. Now working on my favorite MSM, and politicans.
Have fun guys and gals.

Patriotic Guys and Gals I know.
Join me and my fellow Free Republic brothers and sisters in this patriotic support effort.
Write your congressman, Senator, you Main Stream Media, and personally send a letter to Kevin, expressing your outrage over his traitorous actions. Visit the blog and pick out a theme, cut and paste and have fun opineing.
This MSM story says it is again time we give support to our soldiers, marines, and send those liberal a$$h000 a messages we will not stand for this crap.
Especially Reuters, and NBC for making mud of the fog of war. This guy Kevin Sites should put down his camera and pick up a rifle and walk point, or be first in the room.
We have to hit these guys MSM, right between the eyes with shoulder-to-shoulder adult common sense.
In your note tell them you encourage a full investigation by the Marine Corp not the MSM. Second send a strong message to the MSM that they are barking up the wrong tree. The MSM needs to focus on the wrong doings of the enemy not our soliders

Amazing isn't it? Our guys a fighting absolute savages, savages who cut the heads off of innocents because God told them to, and a marine gets hung out to dry for shooting the slime from twenty feet away not 500 feet. If he shot him from that distance he would be a hero. War doesn't make sense and we shouldn't try to make sense of it. These reporters are looking for praise from their networks. Back our troops, please. We don't don't butcher innocent by standers as a rule.
I've got to go but before I do, I just want to say a few things. I remember being a kid that was lost and w/o direction. I remember getting off a bus at 3am at a place called Parris Island. In 3 months, I had direction and was focused on becoming somebody. What I earned there, and the subsequent 3.9 years anchors me to this very day. I will forever be greatful to the Corps. Lets save this kid.
Again, my understanding is that these were not enemy who had just been encountered, but this was a building that was already occupied by our troops for a day. Is that incorrect?
Why was it not discovered earlier that this prisoner was alive? Why would a Marine fear that a prisoner held for a day could have a grenade?
Very true. And I'm sure the people of Fallujah rejoice at the killing of these insurgents/terrorists as the people of Fallujah have been the target of these savages.
Friday, the Marines were fired upon by snipers and insurgents armed with rocket-propelled grenades from a mosque and an adjacent building. The Marines returned fire with tank shells and machine guns.
They eventually stormed the mosque, killing 10 insurgents and wounding five others, and showing off a cache of rifles and grenades for journalists.
The Marines told the pool reporter that the wounded men would be left behind for others to pick up and move to the rear for treatment. But Saturday, another squad of Marines found that the mosque had been reoccupied by insurgents and attacked it again, only to find the same wounded men inside.
Four of the men appeared to have been shot again in Saturday's fighting, and one of them appeared to be dead, according to the pool report. In the video, a Marine was seen noticing that one of the men appeared to be breathing.
A Marine approached one of the men in the mosque saying, "He's [expletive] faking he's dead. He's faking he's [expletive] dead."
The Marine raised his rifle and fired into the apparently wounded man's head, at which point a companion said, "Well, he's dead now."
When told by the pool reporter that the men were among those wounded in Friday's firefight, the Marine who fired the shot said, "I didn't know, sir. I didn't know."
Sorry, but given the fact that the enemy is known to booby-trap themselves and fake injury to lure soldiers into a trap, I think it is only logical to err on the side of caution. At issue here is the fact that the Marine probably didn't know the man was injured. The Marine's cries of "he's faking death" seems to indicate to me that the Marine suspected a trap. Now, he may have been wrong about it being a trap, but if he DIDN'T KNOW, then how is he supposed to react?
Now, clearly this incident will be investigated, but in the meantime the MSM is already implying "war crimes". This is the part that ticks me off. Why not wait until the investigation has concluded? We just handed the enemy tons of propaganda without investigating this properly first.
I don't "like" them.
That is absurd.
You brought up criticism of the embedded program and I defended it and now you're crying because you've been challenged.
You continue to make false assertions when you have been corrected. You are not to be taken seriously.
Good day.
