BTW - Tom Hanks and Time Warner are major liberals. I know he did Saving Private Ryan but that was for the $$$. Spielberg, which directed the film, is a big fan of Castro.

Avoid Polar Express. We want Mr. Bing to lose big on this one.

No problem avoiding this one. Every time I see the trailers, it looks worse.

The Polar Express is a great children's book, that takes fifteen minutes tops to read. How you can stretch that out into a feature film is baffling. It will slink out of theaters soon.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions...the PE trailer doesn't impress. Bet Hallmark (among others) is wishing it hadn't gone so heavily for the merchandizing on this.

They would've done much better if they'd released it in December anyway. Duh.

This will still not take the swelling out of Hanks head. He has been made out to be more of an actor than he really is for years.

Time Warner was lucky that they offloaded half of the project's marketing and production budget ($62.5 million) on Steven Bing.

Apparently, Steve was a virgin in the arena of feature films. A Bing Cherry. Now, he's been screwed.

I have no trouble avoiding it, but in my case mostly because, to me, it's just another "Here's yet one more distraction to keep your Christmas Jesus-free!"

Bing is a multi-millioanire and real estate heir.

Also the guy who (for all intents and purposes) treated poor Elizabeth Hurley like a five dollar fraternity gang "date," if memory serves.

It will probably start disappearing from the theaters soon.

LOL! The Christmas movie season hasn't yet started. I'm sure this movie will do well.

I don't put Tom Hanks in the same category as Michael Moore and Sean Penn; he's always been supportive of the folks in uniform. I'm planning to see the movie, and in 3-D, no less!! I loved the book, though I have never been able to read it all the way through with my kids because I always get fahklempt at the last couple of pages.

No chance of my watching it. The trailers don’t really look like the making of a Christmas Classic.

$170 Million? For crappy animation? Damn.... I like "The Polar Express" story... nice to hear every year, but based just on what I see in the previews have little desire to take my kid to the movie...

Planning on spending my entertainment $$$ on the Spongebob Movie over thanksgiving weekend. Yes I know, viacom and all the evil libs... but Sorry guys, Spongebob's funny.

Wife,Daughter and some friends went to see it yesterday...they were less than enthused. My son asked my Daughter if she thought he would like it and she said,"naw, probably not"....

This connection seals the deal for me not to take him.I'll take him to a museum or somewhere fun!

I know he did Saving Private Ryan but that was for the $$$.

Wrong. He did it because he genuinely cares about our veterans and WWII history. He even made a speech at the WWII grand opening memorial and helped spearhead the drive to build it.

Hanks is a liberal but at least he doesn't wear it on his sleeve like the rest of Hollywood. I wasn't aware that Bing was behind "The Polar Express", however. I thought Hanks produced it.

For Heaven's sake, you don't have to make everything into a political statement. That is what liberals do. I saw this movie and saw nothing remotely political about it, regardless of any merits it may have or lack.
