I figure they'll make it Arafart, or else they'll make it someone or something responsible for starting the Abu Ghraib story, what they consider to be the worst atrocity ever committed in human history.

Michael Moore - for his tireless efforts to help re-elect George Bush

The Marlboro Marine and all that he represents. Ditto! That'll sell a zillion magazines. But, realistically, they picked the military LAST year. I doubt they'd repeat Ok...then... Buckhead smoking a Marlboro, with a dtermined look, as if he's about to ZOT something.

Very well put. The odds he ran against were incredible, and I still can't believe he overcame them all. Of course the prayers of FReepers and everyone else helped tremendously.

Yeah, he triple-salkowed his wife, then dumped her into water. Unfortunately for him, the water was only 1/2" deep, and frozen...
Actually, Scott Hamilton would be a good choice, as he won one battle with cancer and is (I think) fighting yet another one right now. And, unlike Lance Crowe, he doesn't spout off about politics.

It's gonna be Karl Rove. Book it.

Did anyone else notice that Time (or maybe it was Newsweek) recognized Free Republic for questioning the Dan Rather story?
To: eagle11
We ARE talking about Time Magazine, so you can immediately eliminate the excellent suggestions of GWB, Karl Rove, The Marlboro Man, the New Media, Mel Gibson, etc. And the Swiftboat Vets don't even exist, do they?
Arafat or Michael Moore are the most likely possibilities (or George Soros, of course). Don't rule out Bill Clinton, coming off his heart surgery and opening of his "library."

Without question, Arnold Stang!

Sid mentioned him on Imus last week.

I have to also go with Iraqi Prime Minister Allawi. And it royally CHAPS MY HIDE every time I think about Rice Butt dissing him and accusing him of being President Bush's "yes man."
ARRRGGGG. Have to calm down.

He's a bad bad bad man.

Scott Peterson, not Hamilton. Scotty Hamilton is a professional Ice skater

NOT SCOTT HAMILTON,
It's Scott Peterson.
Hamilton is an ice skater and former Olympic champion

I don't believe Arafat will be it. He really didn't do anything this year, but die. By the Time the nominations come around, Arafat will be forgotten.
Bush has a real shot at it, and deserves it.
I think it will go to the Bloggers and other online forums such as Free Republic, because of their impact on the elections.
If anything has changed the world in the past year, certainly they have.
