Will Dems and GOP merge?
WorldNetDaily ^ | November 13, 2004 | Kyle Williams

Posted on 11/13/2004 11:31:38 AM PST by EveningStar

The candidates said this election would be the most important of a lifetime. Some conservatives scoffed at such a perspective, pointing to the liberal and moderate tendencies of both candidates. Whatever the pundits are saying, this presidential election may have turned American politics down a road of restructuring.

I can't believe I actually spent time reading this article. I think my dog should also write a weekly online column.

Maybe enough of the Democrat base is eroding, as the center moves further right. The GOP is taking in more Dem Conservatives, who will surely move the party more right. This will make the Dem Party one of very narrow group of liberals, defined by different "pet issues". I didn't bother reading the article.

Maybe to the extent that Zell Miller / Reagan Democrats realize their party has left them and they finalize their exit, leaving behind a smaller more radical liberal party. In time that could lead to a split between the conservatives and the centrists, yielding up a three party system.

This kid is goofy. I commend his interest but his stuff is always dreadful. The comment about a dog writing a column is appropriate here.

It's also possible that the more conservative among the Republicans may begin to migrate to the Libertarians as the Dems "dilute" the Republicans into a more RINO party. Should Bush's second term become more centrist (meaning more RINO), conservatives may seek other alternatives.

What I can kid of see happening is sometime in the future, the absolute wackos like Mike Moore, and John Kerry, and Hillary Clinton splitting off and becoming there own party, and the right wing wackos such as myself, Tom Coburn, and other people like that splitting off and becoming our own party, and then everybody else, like Zell Miller, Rudi Guliani, and Lieberman, and a few others becoming one big party.

I will pass on reading this article. My decision to stop reading World Net Daily in Jan of 2000 is validated by stuff like this.

The newly formed Constitution Party and their nominee, Michael Peroutka, only mustered up 150,000 votes nationally. The Libertarian Party – which has been around for over 30 years – nominated Michael Badnarik, and he barely passed 400,000 votes nationally.

And son-of-a-gun they're all Freepers. Who knew?

We need to crush the dim party, drive them before us and listen to the lamentations of thier women. Then the two major parties in the US will be the Republican Party and the Libertarian Party.

We basically have that now, the Democrats are fast becoming, if not already, a party of rabid homosexuals, welfare advocates, ugly women without men (or who don't want any), mislead minorities (think Jessie Jackson), and labor unionists.

I can.

Simply because his initial premise is in error. His case relies on the premise that there is no difference between the two parties.

And, given national security, tax & economic policy, judicial appointments, social policy and positive action vs obstruction, etc., that is a fatuous absurdity.

heck - the kid's 15! I give him a ton of credit, considering the most profound issue that concerned me at 15 was Hagar replacing David Lee Roth
