The out of doors, cold, wet weather does not produce bad colds.

People with colds produce colds.

If the worst were to happen does that mean Dennis Hastert becomes second in line to the Presidency until the VP vacancy is filled?

And then Robert Byrd, Democrat.

I don't have an address bar. If I could figure out how to get an address bar, I think I could post a link. I have tried clicking on view and then toolbars and checking address bar and reset but it just won't show up.

"FOX is saying that he was driven to the hospital, not ambulanced."

Could have been caused by exhaustion and/or dehydration. Let us hope for the best.

Thanks for the info. I was aware of the Gerald Ford replacement. I think that is the only time it has happened. It seems a good possibility that Cheney might resign as vp if his health deteriorates to any great degree. I was just wondering in the interim between the time a Vice Presidency becomes vacant and a replacement is confirmed by congress if Hastert become first in line in the order of succession. One would assume that to be the case.

Well, I hope it is *NOTHING* or at least nothing serious. But when you've already had five heart attacks .... it pays to take every caution, so I am glad he's having the tests.

I've wondered if Cheney was really taking care of himself .... After #5 I remember they said he was going to watch his diet, exercise, lose weight, etc., all standard stuff for heart patients. He sure hasn't looked like he was doing much of that. Anybody know if he did cardiac rehab after the last attack?

He looks puffy and overweight and a lot OLDER than his stated age. Was suprised to learn he's actually under 65!

Prayers for VP Cheney. He is a very tough man, he has the best medical care in the world, so I think he will be just fine.

but for his sake maybe time to call it quits???

Calm down! The man may out out live all of us. They said he had a bad cold. If he was you or I he would have gone to the doctor. When you are Vice President of the United States they take you to the hospital. They dont take chances.

He went at the suggestion of his personal physician.

If you are the personal physician of the VPOTUS, you are sending your man in for tests each time he sneezes. You do not want the chance that you don't act at that one wrong time.

Cheney survived several heart attacks, let's hope and pray that he will recover from whatever problem he may be experiencing now.

I just hate it, that some people are already focusing on what will happen if he dies.

Let's all pray that he makes it. We can all be very greatful to him, for all he has done for our country, including recommending Rumsfeld for the job of Secretary of Defense, and helping Bush wage the War on Terror.

No, Byrd is nowhere in the line of succession. The current President Pro Tempore of the Senate is Ted Stevens (R-AK)

"Me too. Of course Fox News keep shoving that HUGE FOX NEWS ALERT NOISE in front of the TV and it makes me jump!"

Their 'ALERT NOISE' is driving me bats, too. I keep jumping up and running in to the television area every time it goes off.
May God bless and protect Vice President Cheney and his family.

May all the DU-ers wishes boomerang on them and what they wish for Cheney, happen to them.
