HELP OUR TROOPS PHONE HOME
By Michelle Malkin   ·   November 12, 2004 02:16 PM
A reader named Marc informs me that "right now the most needed item[s] by our troops are phone cards." Those who would like to give a prepaid calling card to a member of our armed forces can do so online by going to the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, the Navy Exchange Service Command, or the Marine Corps Exchange. More information here.

Operation Uplink
http://www.operationuplink.org/

Operation Uplink is a unique program that keeps military personnel and hospitalized veterans in touch with their families and loved ones by providing them with a free phone card. Using contributions from supporters like you, Operation Uplink purchases phone cards and distributes them to servicemen and women who are separated from those they care about.

Run by the VFW. Highly recommended!

Thanks for the reminder! I need to get thumped on the head every day until I
take care of this. One question, though. Would you suggest 10/$20 cards;
20/$10.00 cards or 40/$5 cards? I know this sounds like a silly question, but I
really don't know what would be best.

10/$20 cards would seem the best

Less cards to keep track of

Thank You for your service to our country.

Awww shucks, just doing my job. Finding a problem, though. The link provided doesn't tell me how to get the cards to the servicemembers.
