News Alert: Scott Peterson Verdict to be announced today at 4:00 Eastern Time.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.

A California jury has the option of finding Scott Peterson not guilty or convicting him of first- or second-degree murder in the death of his pregnant wife.

A first-degree conviction carries the death penalty or life without parole. It would mean the jury found Peterson planned the killing.

A second-degree murder conviction doesn't require a finding of planning and carries a sentence of 15 years to life for each count.

The verdict is due at 4 p-m Eastern time.

What? Did he say Scott is guilty or did he continued his boring refrain that he isn't? Frankly I think he's being paid to be Geragos' mouthpiece once the gag order was put in place.
