you're correct and the precedent was set as these juror's left so it couldn't be fought on appeal, they were told in chamber's this is not open for appeal

Just to be clear...we don't know he killed before. But I remember the cops talking about the woman who disappeared from his college while they were both there together.

The cops sent Peterson a letter to come in and talk to them but he never came and they never followed up.

I think they knew and were trying to deny it in their minds. I just think that they have lost someone they cared about, but because they chose to help defend their son, they are unjustly vilified. They loved Laci and Connor, and they loved their son. A parent's love is unconditional and it is hard to come to grips with the evil that their son has done. They have lost a lot as well.

Do we know for sure yet that the jury actually DID toss the foreman? I have heard two different stories about this - i.e. it was HIS idea and it was THEIR idea. If the jury booted/forced him out, then here goes the first appeal, jury misconduct, etc., whatever. The soon-to-be-written books (that you KNOW will be written about this) should be interesting. Let's hope they are more interesting than the ones written by those idiot jurors on Simpson's trial.

One of her standard routines in closing argument.

She'd take a mason jar full of dirt and water, and plant it on the jury box rail. Say, "here's what the defense has been trying to do in this case," pick it up and shake vigorously. "They're just trying to muddy the water and confuse you."

I waited for the top to come off one time, but it never did. < g >

When I was in private practice, I was a "courthouse rat" - 3-4 days a week at the courthouse - and an insurance defense lawyer. Our standard modus operandi is sweet reason and calm explanation. Somebody once said a civil defense lawyer tries to suck all the emotion out of a case. So of course her trial techniques always looked a little flamboyant to me, 'cause I never did any criminal practice.

But if she was trying one, you were sure to be interested and entertained.

Tell you what they found? No, I wasn't on the jury. But if the system works as it should, they "found" what they needed to prove to them beyond a reasonable doubt that he committed the crime of which he was accused. No one but he and Laci (and Connor, in his way) were present at the time of the crime, so no one could have anything other than assumptions to go by. So if you were to give in to your fears, that manes that any time anyone commits a crime and no one sees it happen, we have to let them go free. AFter all, any trial would be based on assumptions, right?

The system worked as it is laid out. Both sides presented their case. The jury heard weeks of testimony from the prosecution and the defense. In the end, the evidence and testimony convinced twelve people Scott Peterson was a murderer. I'm not certain why that scares you. Can you elaborate on that?

Good grief...are you really THAT obtuse?

I really haven't been following this closely, but I know that there were good reasons to get rid of the two jurors.

You joined today,to post this drivel? Go away!

Nancy never did think Scott was guilty. She fell in love with him.

Basis? That would certainly run contrary to her usual position.

My heart tells me it's true, but you are right, a court of law hasn't. Sad, sad day for her family as well today.

yes his son was about to reveal a breaking investigation he was on and bam:

On Sunday, February 22nd, 1998, Sandy Hume, the 28 year old son of journalist Britt Hume, was reportedly found dead in his Arlington, Virginia home. Aside from the statement that this was an "apparent" suicide, there remains in place a total media blackout on this story. Hume was a reporter for The Hill magazine, a newspaper about Congress for Congress, and had broken a major story in 1997 regarding the friction between House Speaker Newt Gingrich and a faction led by Representative Paxon (who announced his resignation just 24 hours after Hume's death).
Sandy had a reputation for getting the story that nobody else wanted to look at, and at the time of his death there reports that "a reporter" who was about to break a story confirming the White House's use of investigators to dig up dirt on critics and invstigators.
The man who performed the as-yet-unreleased autopsy is none other than Dr. James C. Beyer, who has a record of concealing homicides behind a ruling of suicide.

Did they ever arrest the boyfriend?

I only saw the cops on FNC once and at that time the cops said they had no suspects and never found her body.
