CO:Boulder High School Students, Teacher Call for Death of Bush, Meet Secret Service Today [11/11]
Political State Report ^ | Nov 11, 2004 | unknown

Posted on 11/11/2004 10:40:58 PM PST by Mike Fieschko

After a busy weekend protesting the Re-Election of President Bush, some Boulder High School students, and their teacher, Mr. Jim Vacca, got a visit from the Secret Service today.

The protest, which managed to attract Congressman Mark Udall (D), who is expected to run for governor in 2006, was only a warmup to the action this week.

Earlier this week, according to several dozen witnesses and the Boulder Daily Camera (you may have to register, no charge), a student band, with Mr. Vacca playing along, played out a song that called for the death of President Bush. The band, the Taliband, played at a student talent show earlier this week.

Earlier today, the Mike Rosen show on 850 KOA was flooded with calls from students who claimed that the band "advocates killing George W. Bush." The band is scheduled to perform tomorrow night at the high school, however, the band is no longer going by "The Taliband" but is now known as "The Coalition of the Willing." There will be a multimedia show during the song showing pictures of President Bush.

Apparently the band sang "George Bush, I hope you die soon" to the tune of their punk version of Bob Dylan's "Masters of War." Jim Vacca, facing a tital wave of public outrage, has dropped out of the band. It remains to be seen how the Secret Service will treat this matter.

Well, yes, if you evacuate the aircraft's "waste" storage directly over the town square...or the Provost's home at the U of C.

Do I get to flip the dump switch? Pleeaaseee!!!!

LOL I'm sure they'll go down and pat them on their heads. Republicans are becoming spineless. They'll probably toss them candy while they're at it.

It's beautiful, but Colorado Springs is more beautiful, and it isn't populated by people who want the President killed.

If you fly a glider over the town, the collective hot air rising from the University will keep you up all day.

Leet's hope that they treat it VERY seriously. It is evident that this teacher doesn't have the judgement needed in an educator.

Does it seem the common-denominator in most cases is University Towns?

I take it none of the parents are upset by this in their childrens' high school?

The "Taliband", that's pretty witty. I hope when that Congressman runs for governor, his opponent plasters commercials all over the airwaves showing him gettin' down to the Taliband.

This picture gives new evidence that this truly is now the "Slut Generation."

LOL! Nice try, but that picture is from a film made in the 1970's.

Maybe things haven't changed as much as you think.

Absolutely! You're the man for the job.

And since this will be a historic run, you can use one of these to make the drop...

A google seach reveals that Jim Vacca is the advisor to the school's so-called "gay straight alliance" club.

Another reason for people to make it a short term priority to keep your kids away from such dangerous idiots by keeping your kids out of government schools - and in the long run to radically reform government schools.

Avoid it at all costs!!!

I can't avoid it! My folks live there.

Whenever they have a meeting with the other two Boulder Republicans, they drive separate cars for fear that an accident would wipe out the entire local GOP.

(That's a joke, son).
