Secession, which didn't work very well when it was tried once before, is suddenly red hot in the blue states. In certain precincts, anyway. One popular map circulating on the Internet shows the 19 blue states won by Sen. John Kerry -- Washington, Oregon, California, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Maryland and the Northeastern states -- conjoined with Canada to form the "United States of Canada." The 31 red states carried by Mr. Bush are depicted as a separate nation dubbed "Jesusland."

How many years do we wait to give them temporary green cards to come back and pick our crops?
Good one. LOL.
I could live with that. I would prefer that we just run them north kinda like cattle.
Buh-bye
They should --- Mexico should be a liberal's heaven ---70% unionization rate, ejido system of farming (communist), all Socialist and Commuist political parties and a Socialist health care system.
Why even bother trying to retain them? If massachusetts decided to join Canada I'd be the first person to give them my enthusiastic encouragement and offer Vermont as a parting gift. Good riddance, I say. Every leftist state that leaves is two fewer leftist democrat senators to filibuster our judges.
I'm not saying I'd be sorry to see them go, but I sure wouldn't mind shooting a few on the way out. Okay, one. Just let me shoot one. I promise, one and I'll stop
ROFL! Okay, just one. Random or selected? :o)
I concur. Read Sam Huntington's tome: "Clash of Civilizations". (paperback for $15). A masterful study of the issues...and too well documented to be taken lightly.
Cheers.
I would be willing to move Hollyweird brick by brick across the border.
The more I think about it, the more I think that these people will never actually leave. They'll just talk and whine about it. They've got it pretty good here.
We can move all of the PETA members up north to the border by ANWAR because when we start drilling for oil, they can take care of the poor caribou that will be upset with the noise from the pumps.
Of course they may get a little upset when they see what the Eskimos do to the polar bears and seals.
Well let's see, what would the red states have the blue states would want? OK, food.
Now what would the blue states have that the red states would trade for the food? ........
What would we do with hubris, arrogance, and stupidity?
We've got the food and the guns, we don't have to give them anything but a hard time and dance lessons.
They're just teasing us, its their way of saying congrats on the election victory! They know we would like nothing better. It would be like the day your mother in-law moved out and your wife is crying and you have to pretend you are upset too when you are really crying with happiness!
I like it! I like it! Great idea!
Finally some sanity on this thread! Thank you!
I could quite frankly care less if Massachusetts is part of the union or if we have 50 states, 5 states, or 500 states. The simple fact is that the blue states pull our national government substantially to the left of where it should be because they are a large minority constituency even when the majority clearly votes conservative, as happened last tuesday. As long as they're there we have to compete with them for votes and give their interests representation. Let em go or kick em out and the problem is solved.
Just imagine what our presidential elections would be with just states like Texas, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Alabama, Kansas, South Carolina and Oklahoma in the mix. No more California or New York to compete with. No more Vermont. No more Connecticut or Rhode Island or Massachusetts or New Jersey. No more gay marriage and gay governor states. No more illegal alien voter states. No more left wing nutcase senators from the northeast and left coast. No more Boxer, Feinstein, Osama Mama Murray, Schumer, Clinton, Kerry, Kennedy, or Leahy. No more Jim Jeffords and no more Lincoln Chaffee. It'd be a dream come true for conservatives.
If Hillary is elected in 2008, I will want to secede!
The electoral map isn't so different from what it was the last time a Northeastern Democrat ran for President (1988). But the popular vote is more skewed regionally with Bush getting fewer votes in the blue states and Kerry getting fewer votes in the red ones. Kerry lacked appeal in much of the country and Bush's appeal was more limited in some demographics that his father cracked. The lesson for the Democrats is not to nominate a Northeasterner again, and the Republicans could also take care to balance their ticket next time, too. The country is going to survive this. It won't break up or break down, though the Democratic Party may, if Hillary runs for the nomination.
to bad I live in the moran state of CA will it would give me a good reason to LEAVE this h*ll hole of a state once and for all
BLUE STATES HAVE MORANS IN THEM however not all of us believe the way they do
I have to differ with you on that. There are blue cities in some otherwise red states like Michigan. But when it comes to New England they are virtually all blue. Every single congressman from Massachusetts is a flaming liberal Democrat. That makes the entire state blue and it is one state that I would be HAPPY to be without.
